    Say it ain't so!!

"After the 27th we are in a progressively drier pattern with chances for very light snow at times. A large high pressure ridge may develop over the west by the last few days of January and through early February with limited/ no opportunity for snow at that time. We will be watching"

Looks like another powder day today! Long term forecast still showing high pressure when I'll be there, but at least I guess there's plenty of snow on the ground with more on the way in the next week.

It will still be good on the mountains, but you could always go cat skiing.

They drop you back off at the top around 3:00, you could still get several laps on the gondi.

BAH! Snowmass rules! All that terrain in Hanging Valley is NOT for families. True, it does take two lifts plus a short hike to get back there, but it's well worth the effort in my book. There's far more accessible cliffs and chutes then at any of the other Apsen resorts, too. Yes, there's a fair amount of traversing to the good stuff, so it's not good for "quantity over quality" skiing, but I love the terrain far more there then at the other resorts.... just my opinion...

AD - if there's snow, listen to the morning snow reports, and then make your decision each day. Today, Highlands claimed 11" fresh while Snowmass claimed 6". They're all in close proximity to each other, but the totals for the morning can be vastly different.
