Can you soften a Comp 130

Ok, so I have feet that are a bitch to fit and I'm a po-ass college student. I want 120s but have the option to buy a pair of Lange Comp 130 LF WC's for 129 bucks, which are in my price range but WAAAAAAY to stiff for my ass (all 175 Lbs of it). All I have heard is how much of a stiff biatch these are, so I have a feeling that they would be useless to me at the current point. Does anyone know of any reliable methods for softening these things, that won't cut into the durability or control of the boot?

Edit: I'm well aware of methods to soften boots in general, I'm specifically looking for anyone's experience with this particular shell.

How about taking out one or two of the rivets in the back?

Buy the 130's! $129 is such a deal....I gotta agree with darkside that taking out the rivets in the back would bring you down in flex. Not to mention any decent mountain shop bootfitter who sells lange could get the cut specs from the race room to soften them...

rivets alone will drop the flex to a manageable amount - esp. as you were going to go for the 120 anyway....
