    Blackcomb ConditionsJanuary 13 2006

    Blackcomb January 13 2006

Today was off the hook, sickter, radiculous, OMG. No more talk; just pictures. 30cms new but 2 to 3cms an hour falling all day and not much in the way of liftlines. Alpine wasn't open due to AC. High winds made the snow in the trees just fine.

Just to give you an idea of tree skiing in Blackcomb; here 's the cat-track.

Even late in the afternoon there was good snow in Outer Limits

    Late in the day.

Sharon on Sideroom. No faceplants necessary to coat her head in snow - that's all snow face shots.

I knew I was tired and making mistakes when I hucked this 20 footer (anyway I think its 20 feet or so) at the end of Fraggle Rock onto a shallow angle landing leaving the bombcrater. Good thing there was nice cushiony snow but now my ass hurts. The snowboarder at the top decided to take a more conservative line.

Glad to hear Blackcomb was great.
Just rolled in and Whistler Mountain was off da hook today too... We lapped Big Red a few, caught one of the first tbars up to Harmony... And then Harmony Express over, and over and over again with nutsack deep shots at every turn.
Today was one of those days that defines the beauty of skiing... Schralping deep deep pow with good friends over and over and over again. Exhausted from the day, but so happy I was there to be a part of it.... AWESOME DAY!!!
I'm sick of following my dreams. I'm just gonna ask them where they're goin' and hook up with 'em later.

Security is mostly a superstition. It does not exist in nature... Avoiding danger is no safer in the long run than outright exposure. Life is either a daring adventure or nothing. -Helen Keller
