Turns out I was wrong about the pricing at Rimrock. Apparently that $40 price was an early season special. I guess it's more during peak season!

How is the season shaping up in Whistler? I might have an opportunity to go Feb 12 weekend?

Start at the top and face downhill. Drop in parallel if necessary.

I'd say it's shaping up nicely! It's been dumping since Christmas. Their website claims 50 inches in the last week, and there was probably another 50 in the week previous to that. Freezing levels haven't always been favorable, but what else is new? This is the Pacific Northwest, after all.

16 days straight now with 5 cms of snow or more

    Pics from Sunday

    From Jan 8

Ho hum another day of powder in Whistler marking the 19th straight day with 5cms or more of new snow. Not a ton of snow but still fun. Sharon on Paleface

Then we're off to Ratfink. Dorothy cuts in front of Sven

How long is the drive from Seattle airport to Whistler? I did it 10 years back, but dont really remember. Would I need to rent a four wheel drive, or will a cheap car do fine?

About five hours. More if you get stuck in traffic or a lineup at the border.

Very unlikely you'll need 4WD. If you look for driving directions on the Whistler website they'll route you through Vancouver and the Lion's Gate bridge. I'd recommend exiting I-5 at the truck border crossing (exit 275) and follow these directions instead: http://www.tourismwhistler.com/www/p...?instruction=2
These directions look good other than the fact they forget to tell you to get off I-5 at exit 275!

Squamish is a good place to stock up on groceries and stuff like that if you them. It about halfway between Van and Whistler.

Cool good stuff. I like that white stuff. I just hope there isn't too much powder. That would make it tough to drop in parallel.
