Crested Butte Lift Tickets - Question

"What others don't know or aren't telling you, is that once you use one voucher, you can't use anymore, as CB is requiring a photo ID upon redemption at the ticket window" - In response to the Denver Nuggets Crested Butte Free Vouchers

This quote is from a guy on Craigslist. Is this true?

What are the terms of the vouchers? I'm headed over there at the end of the month with a crew of 15, and could make it worth your while to unload the extras if it's worth it for me. PM me.

    Yes its true

I was there last week and it is true you have to show a photo ID to use it and you can only use one free ticket voucher. They put the info into there computer and they were not making any exceptions, I tried.
    Good Luck

I guess I'm confused here. How is the number on the ticket related to your ID? Basically, how do they know?

Oh, Ok, so in theory you could buy one ticket from someone on Craigslist and use it. What about those people who went to multiple Nuggets games and received a few vouchers?

Well, this just sucks. I didn't buy a 4 day pass because I was counting on getting these tickets for super cheap.

I'll tell you the other decent hookup down there (mentioned previously): Staying at the wildwood inn in Gunny (yeah, gunny I know). They sell cheap tixs there to guests (so cheap in fact that you get more off your ticket prices for two people than it cost for those two people to rent the room.

That sucks. They weren't doing that last year, and it saved me a ton of money.
You could always get someone standing around to buy it for you, sell them the voucher for half-price of a day pass, or offer to split the cost of their ticket- it's not as good as free, but half off is decent.

    Damn! That sucks.
We had taken big trips to CB the last two years because we got tall stacks of the vouchers.

If anyone has "stacks" of these, let me know. We go up to CB a couple times a year, with a big crew...we usually just buy a couple of tickets, and then shuttle people up Silver Queen, and just stay on the upper mountain all day where they don't check.

If anyone's got some extra's, I'll trade for 'em.

    thanks

Ditto here if anyone else has "stacks" of them. I am headed down next weekend with some friends and could use 4 of them. I may be able to trade for some $30.00 vouchers to Vail. I know thats not the fairest of trades but when lift tickets are 81 bucks a pop it kind of makes it seem reasonable. Would even through in some beer as well.
