Little Beaver rocks! Well not really. Spent the first hour on it and decided I had enough of that lift line so I took my four and seven y/o and we made our way to Harry's dream lift hoping for more vertical per lift line wait. spent the rest of the morning on gentle ben which my kids thought was pretty cool so life was good.
After the grandparents came and picked up the kids at noon to take them back to Garden City and the sledding hills it was time to tour the fortress they call Beaver Mountain. After one of the cheapest and best lunches I have bought in quite a while at a ski resort we were off to Harry's lift line or I mean dream lift for another sizeable wait. Spent the rest of the day touring around a pretty cool local mountain with lots of potential. Would have liked to hit it Sunday morning with the fresh snow and low crowds but we had to bust ass to Alta for AYE placement tryouts for my seven year old.
For skiing at beaver only one day I can sense the place is a great local mountain and I love the price of lunch. The biggest problem besides the Saturday lift lines was the ticket office. How can this resort be so old and not have upgraded the shack by now? That's great they put in Marge's triple a few years back and added some nice terrain but it's time to do something about that pile of crap ticket office! This would obviously not be a reason to not return to the beav in the future but it would eliminate some of the tourists like myself complaining about it on the internet when all it would take is less than eight hundred dollars worth of wood and one more door
.
On a side note this was my first trip to Garden City and the accomodations were incredible. Bear lake is beautiful and the valley is incredible.
that is all!
