Not really, bu three feet rocked! Me and hardrider all day with Craig - Palisades, Funnel Chute, Oops, Fingers, and all the other goodies. We're beat! What a day. My personal best was a first run tumble through the rocks off the cornice next to Ski School Chute without a scratch.

Say it, powdaaaah. Great day at the wood today one of my best ever! I will definetley be there tommorrow if my knee can handle it. I took a blind rollover today carrying way to much speed expecting a small 5-10 footer instead it was 5 feet of air to rock followed by another 15 of air. When I hit the rock my ski realeased and when I hit the extremely flat landing my knee was driven right into my binding, ouch. Its bruised pretty good but I hope to ski tommorrow since it gonna be fackin siiiick.

For those of you that made it to the 'woodhood today - you suck.

A direct eyewitness had the new snow at lake level in the 20-24" range - and that was after all the rain yesterday. I can imagine what an additional 1400' did to the totals.

The afternoon session is going to be a tough go tomorrow, but mark me for a definate Saturday - AK stylin'.

    Bastards!!!!

Ugh, back here in boston where it is warm and rainy. Hard to believe I missing this big a dump.

On the other hand, I keep thinking of the fun I will have snowblowing my driveway when I return to Tahoe, not to mention the almost gauranteed 4 foot berm blocking the driveway.

    Go gitt some!!!

Christmas Eve Tahoe got major cold dumpage. Drove up to Sierra-At-Tahoe in order to ski in their dense storm protecting trees. They were reporting 25-30 inches at 6am with moderately low snow levels down to about 4.5k. Snowed moderately all day adding a few more inches. Early in morning was sinking down to mid thigh on my Chubbs. Skiers could only really turn in steeper pitches as we were pushing huge wakes of snow. Was not really dry enough snow for the depth. The resulting chop cut up had deep tracks and was awkward. By midday snow had set up a bit so it was easier to stay higher in the snow. Endless powder all day in the dense trees but was not as pleasant as it may sound because the new snow was atop a thin base so the surface was pretty lumpy with logs, rocks, shaping the surface although I hardly hit anything.

On drive in this morning, 12-26, from Carson Pass, snow banks are now above car height. Quite a great base of snow now. KW reported 36-42 inches for the storm with the base now 78-122 inches. Pulled into the Cornice lot at 8:30am. Couple minutes later was removing skis from the rack when someone pulled in behind me. Dude gets out with huge grin looking up at mountain at the major dump. Couple seconds later he looks my way and we both crack up. It was SP. Funny thing is when I was here last on Monday similar thing happened when old skiing acquaintance I've known at the Wood since 1990 pulled in behind me, got out, and after a minute helping the driver fit in the space, cracked up when he noticed he had parked next to me. Said 10 and 4 had been closed all Christmas day so that would be today's prizes. Temps were in upper teens and stayed cold all day with light snow and a bit of sunny blue. Went up on Cornice and noted everything that had been open Christmas day was still tracked, not filled in overnight, and uninteresting. 10 opened immediately which was unusual. SP joined some buds in fat line. Bomb debris wasted a big section at Wall center. At top everyone went nuts fast dropping the steep cornice shots and tracking lines. Next ride up, and Eagle is about to open with about three dozen lined up at the top of the ridge. I skipped that Chinese downhill by dropping down to the lower ridge saddle where there were just 3 skiers waiting. Patroller dropped the sign and everyone went nuts again. Finest run all day bouncing big on dem Chubbs. Snow was quite dry deep ecstacy.

I went right over to chair 2 as 4 on backside was soon to open. Big noisy gang behind ropes at top and soon second Chinese Downhill of the day was on racing over to the 4 lift maze. Crazy, what a riot on the dogleg. Was able to load 8th chair. Those on first chairs not surprisingly all headed to Thunder while I performed to impatient hootin chair riders in the unblemished white expanse under the lift. Met up with a bud next ride and we just kept climbing the Vista ridge out further each ride until about 1pm. Back on front side big crowd had finally arrived and was making moguls everywhere in soft dry snow. Couple wimped out runs and I pulled the plug too beat but smiling. Will return for big storm forecast for Sunday/Monday. -dave

Damn i was right behind you dave ,i scored about the 15 chair on 4 .I also headed straight for the the vista and scored fresh tracks for each of the 4 runs i made there.Face shots and chest shots that hit so hard that it would almost knock me off my boards were the norm.

The chinese downhill in Eagle was fackin hilarious,i actually hit a dragger with my Z-bend on the way down.Thats what the fucker gets for trying to snake my line.

Saw Punani on the way back to 10 and said wuus up but didnt spot the Don at the chair.

All in all one word can describe the day and that's siiiiiiiiiiiiiick!

Were you skiing with a bud CRACKER? On one hike out of five on Vista ridge a couple guys with too much energy passed us out at the steep section of the second hill and I was wondering if it was one of our PM gang? Said some shit there on passing. I was moving pretty slow by that time haha. We even made a couple runs all the way out to the steepest section near Vista summit and bounded down by the 4 Junipers. Top foot on the backside was super fluff atop the bottomless. Had great elasticity on my Chubbs for the boisterous big exploding bouncers. -dave

I need a ride!! Or something... Shit!

All this talk is getting me excited for the SNOW! I'm still stuck in this damn beach of a town (too bad I don't surf...yet...) and won't be back up in Sacramento until tomorrow evening...then I have to freakin' work until Wednesday at 3pm.

----->> Anyone passing through Sacramento on your way to either S. Lake or Kirkwood Wednesday evening or early early Thursday morning?? Or, I can give someone a ride in my car, provided you help me out with the chains? I don't mind either way, but I'd just like to have company on my way up to the snow.

    DJ Sapp?
    Snowjob?

PM me if you have a kind offer or want a ride from me yourself!! I plan to be in S. Lake / Kirkwood until Sunday the 4th !!

    Snow, yo!!
