Wasn’t aware I was shitting up the thread. CS mentioned the bombing in the TR and I figured he would like to see the results.Originally Posted by Odin

great pics...
nice mtn shots and a fun lookin day shredding some fun friendly snow
but what is that bright light? the sun? I almost forgot what a sunny day looked like as its been lake effect gray for weeks here in the flatbrown and rainy mudwest so thanks for the reminder...
I went out wiht LongDuckDong and some folks he knows this morning. I think LDD ran into Dan atop Toledo, though I was lagging as I'm out of shape and 2 weeks back east makes the lungs hurt up at 9500 feet. Now I know who Dan was slutting it out for. Conditions weren't quite epic, but pretty damn close to it this morning. Creamy, bottomless pow (aka hero snow).
We did a lap in Toledo, then traversed over to Days, did two laps in there, and then raced rollerballs down to the cars at around 11:45am. It warmed up rapidly. On to the pics.
WPG dropped two bombs on Cardiac as we hit the summit of toledo - the resulting slide was absolutely enormous. It ran full length, ripped out to the ground. I managed to snap this shot a few seconds after it started. Someone skied the shot looker's right of the bed a couple hours later.
Ours (and DTM's & CS's and a few other dawn patrollers') damage on Toledo
Looking down at LDD's second turn in Days
LDD on the second lap in Days
Anyways, good stuff. Wasatch is sweet. And very nice shots, CS!
I just... oops... yep. I've got wood.

Damn, sweet pics CS! Maybe I'll get up that early more than once this year!
Great pictures, great thread. Thanks for sharing.
"Can't vouch for him, though he seems normal via email."
Dayamn, that thing is large. I can't believe I missed out on that. I thought about hiking back up the ridge, but decided skiing sounded more fun.
And I think I see my track in Toledo Chute.![]()
Fun day for sure, and nice pics yourself Stump. (and I know how you feel about the out of shape thing)
Sweet stokage, save the WPG shot in the rocks. Glad I didn't go through with my plan to camp at the Montreal mine last night. While the pics look a bit further up the ridge (b/w Ivory and Montreal Hill) I'd have been cleaning out my shorts, rather than the oatmeal pan. Looks like I might have had some unforeseen "objective hazards" to deal with.
Again, thanks for the stokage and the ammunition.
No more yankee my wankee...
One of the first things I thought of when I saw how far that thing ran in the pic on the first page was "Damn, I hope no one was down there working their way up." Glad you stayed home.Originally Posted by Adski
Bummed I chose yesterday morning over today. Oh well, the 1 1/2 hours on my rollers last night were pretty sick too.

Anyway, here are some time lapse shots of the big slide, in case anyone is curious. I heard the first bomb, then looked over and saw the second, and then the ensuing carnage. However, I pulled out my camera a few secs late.

So was that slope a legitamate threat to anyone other than WPG's clients?
Nice work Craig. That's the payoff boss. And Stump--nice stokage as well. Man--I'm definitely due for a DP. And that slide is retarded big.
The Griz
Damn. Double damn. Glad you caught it.
that totally sucks.
damn, nice grab with those shots LDD and of course CS as he is an up and comer here with stoke now that he is back in the promiseland. need.....to....shred....pow......must....wait....t ill....saturday
More fucked up than a cricket in a hubcap
You bastards are worrying about WPG bombing your fresh tracks...man, what i would pay to have such mountains near me. Those shots are rediculously amazing.
Very nice. Looks like a great morning.
Couple more pics from LDD's camera (mostly shameless self-promotion)

Wow. Great pics guys. I like the hero snow comment...pefectly fitting!
I'm curious, would WPG bomb that slope if someone was traversing in / out of the gulch below? Do they even look before they drop that stuff? (hoping that they do a flyby to see if anyone is around).
I'm sure you would have prefered to ski that slope yourself and trigger the slide for them.Originally Posted by bcrider
Damn, I wish I had time to get DP in here.
Well, the slope may well have stabilized under current conditions, and may well not have slid without explosive prompting. Instead they ripped it to the ground and it will more likely end up as a point of persistent weakness after the next storm.Originally Posted by funkendrenchman
