Help Needed Teleporting Skis from Tahoe to Mammoth

    Hey Everybody! (Hi Dr. Nick!)

Here's the situation. I'm leaving for Ecuador in six days to attend a conference on volcanic hazards in Quito. As luck would have it, we are routed through LAX. As such, an administerial decision has been made to insert one week of skiing in Mammoth and three weeks in Tahoe into our trip before returning to New Zealand.

I figured this would happen before I left Tahoe last May, so I left a pair of skis in Truckee, at what is now Basom's house. Problem is, I'm going to Mammoth before I'm going to Tahoe.

Given the nukage in Mammoth, it would sure be nice to have those skis instead of having to rent something for the week we'll be in Mammoth.

Here's where I could use some Maggot help - if anyone in Tahoe is going to Mammoth anytime in the next few weeks, or better yet anyone from Mammoth going up there and back could meet up with Basom, grab my skis, and take them to Mammoth and let me know how to get in touch with you when I get ther on the night of January 30th or morning of the 31st so I can pick them up, that would be super sichter awesome extra rad extreme! I might even bring that person some super cool schwag from New Zealand and/or Ecuador as a bribe for ski transportation/storage.

    Anyone? Help a brutha out?

Lane - Lego and I are going to Mammoth on either this Thursday night or Friday early morning (1/5 or 1/6). Let me know if you'd like us to transport skis. Edit - we'd need someone to store them on the other end.......

Can probably help with the storage on the other end. Going to be up there this weekend again. Oh wait, just read the dates and I will be in JH when you are getting to Mammoth so maybe I'm not a good candidate for the storage. If sure something could be figured out if there were no other options. Let me know.

Sweet, thanks everybody! Basom is taking them to work to get them fixed (I broke them the last day I used them, but thank god for helicoils) and I'll forward the link to this thread to him so he can arrange a pickup in Truckee....I assume Grumpy's is a ski shop?

Even better, Grumpy's is a bar. I work there Wed. thru Sat. Pick up your skis and I'll buy you a beer.

down in front LB - fack that Fed Ex shiznit. The Maggot system is much more efficient, especially if there are beverages in the deal.

¡Hola de Ecuador! Bump for anyone else that might be able to help me out...think my skis are still in Tahoe, would be great to slay some Mammoth pow with them next week. I don´t want to have to ask Basom to FedEx them, he´s done enough already .....but I fucking will, I swear to God....
