STP: Free Shipping, A Little Effort

Free shipping at Sierra Trading Post! You just need to answer the riddle that is hidden in the product description of a random item in their catalog(Get on the mailing list!) I'll try and post the latest riddle in this thread, I'll leave it up to you to post the correct answer. I just made an order online and put the Q and A in the "comments" box and the Key Code during the order process. They email you if you have the right answer and credit the shipping cost(and they thank you for it!). "Congratulations! Your answer to our hidden riddle is correct! As promised, we have credited your surface shipping costs on order #XXXXXXXX, bringing your new total to $27.85. Thanks for shopping with us. We appreciate your business." I saved $6, money for a sixer or half a slope-side lunch. Get on it, maggs!

    Technology Can Be Good, Too!

Yeah, this is the exact post where I found the info. I hesistate in posting my info there, however, because I want this offer to be around for a little while longer! Like the digg effect, there could be a negative fatwallet effect on us maggs. 72Twenty, irony can be pretty ironic! Didn't even think about that!(I doubt TK would be using email, though.) Nice pair on your avatar!

Do you work there or something? I personally don't like that place anymore. I live 45 miles from the main Cheyenne store/warehouse. The people that work there are rude and don't know what they're talking about, and their selection is really crappy nowadays. Their prices suck too; I went to Jax in Fort Collins and got a current model Sierra Designs down coat on sale and it was $15 cheaper than "last year's model" on "clearance" at Sierra Trading Post in Cheyenne. Yeah, Sierra Trading Post 5, 6, 7 years ago kicked ass, but these days you're better off shopping elswhere.

No to your Q. Some people who shop there may want to save on shipping costs. YMMV.

Screw Sierra Trading Post and their "cosmetic" second Ski socks. Fuckers had holes in them. Screw them and their crediting you for return shipping. Fuck them and their righteous Christianity.

Would you rather that they refused your return, or made you pay for the return shipping?

IMO, STP has top-notch customer service. Backcountry.com (& affiliates) are right up there with them. REI is also very near the top.

FYI: Big 5 is clearing out winter gear. Ski socks are 30% off. I picked up some Fox River ones for around $8.

I should have been more specific. They didn't credit me for the initial shipping fee. So I paid $7 for the privilege of looking at defective socks. Really what peeves me is the socks were clearly not cosmetic seconds - they were defects. Yeah, they have decent customer service - but some of the stuff they sill is in subpar condition, and has obviously been to a customer, unlike REI or Backcountry.com

The righteous Christianity thing gives me pause, but I'm a big repeat customer.

Between the kids, spouse, and me, we purchased a couple dozen cosmetic seconds ski socks this year, all of which were fine. Long underwear too -- colors didn't match that well between bottoms and tops, but so what?

And when I contacted them about problems with my four-year-old Solly Scream Pilot 8s, they offered to take them back for a full refund.
