I'll definetly tour Mags around inbounds and backcountry. Fri-Monday are the days I will be skiing both weekends.
So I'm stepping up. I personally always like bottom of Glacier chair on Blackcomb at 9 or 10.
Lightboard on Whistler at 9 or 10.
Whistler on Weekdays i.e. fri and mon.
    Blackcomb on weekends.
I'll have my pass back by then too. Whoppee!
White giro full face with red jacket and bros. I'll be waiting at said places at said times to show people the goods -this involves potential backcountry so bring your gear, potential scare yourself stupid lines, and potential hucks.
I'm happy to meet and ski with new people.
So there ya go Lee, I'm stepping up.
Same disclaimer as Lee. If there's powder days (which hopefully there are) this all changes.
See ya at the Maggot summit.

toby - that's the local price and Im sure i could get that but I don't want to take a group of people I've never skied with all the way to Rainbow; the route back through gin and tonics and sproat isn't rough but it is a long day - sorry but too much responsibility. Can i count on you for meeting up on the inbounds days?

awesome athan. You can take everyone cliff-hucking. At some later date I'll put together some sort of schedule and places to meet for lunch etc. Usually Pikas at 11am is good for lunch as are meeting at the lightboards.

Im just throwing out times and ideas here people so pls feel free to chime in. This doesnt need to be too formal.

Also on the b/c gear; pm me if you want to rent some and i'll get you hooked up but its a good idea to do it in advance just in case the only b/c store in town gets cleaned out on all its gear by something like a big avvy class or whatever. Just trying to make sure everyone gets what they want.

Anyone going to be up 2/26-3/2?

I just got invited to a "conference" from 2/28-3/3 at Whistler and decided to take the whole week off. It looks like most heads are showing up on 3/3 at the earliest but I thought I'd see if anyone is going to be there for that week as I'm rolling out there solo and don't exactly plan on attending conference events during the day...

trigger pulled finally. i am arriving at seattle airport friday night the 3rd..... i am hoping a seattle mag can find a floor spot for me for 3/4 nights as well as let me share gas expenses for rides to wherever mags are skiing that weekend, or, i am also willing to share car rental cost with anyone. i'll be going to whistler the 6th or 7th . i do have a place to stay in whistler , and may be able to find room for another mag, but won't know for certain till i get there.
what's so funny about peace, love, and understanding?

I've got a condo booked in Whistler for the 10th until the 13th. Looks like tibaher and bomber will be taking the other bedroom in the two bedroom unit. There's probably room for one more if someone wants couch space.

edit: looks like the condo's filled up now with Dodger claiming a spot.

i'll step up with Atrain. I'm pretty sure I'll be around although school is going to be pretty hectic. Like ATRAIN sadi though if its a pow day I don't mind skiing w/ you if you can keep up, otherwise sorry I'll see you the next day. Bring all your avi gear. Blackcomb especially has got some awesome lines in a very short hiking time. 1500 foot runs in 40 minutes or less. theres also a lot of knar so bring your cameras and your BALLS. Disease Ridge and Finger Chutes are awesome. If your interested in seeing what can be done before hand pick up a Whistler Topo map and look at Decker Mountain or get a Intro to Skiing the Coast Mountain book

Awesome book. Get it from their site http://www.whistlerguidebooks.com/ or from these folks

www.snowcovers.com - call the whistler store tollfree

The backcountry shop has this incredible map - order it from http://www.escaperoute.ca - get all your bc stuff there too

I'll definitely be in for some hike-to stuff (up to an hour bootpack) if conditions warrant. I'll have my avi gear, but I won't have skins and AT bindings and don't want to rent.

I dont have a room, just a bed. I would think they still have a spot or 2 open for at least some of the summit. Call them up and ask.

also check out Post #49 in this thread. I posted up some other places to stay on the cheap

I called to make the reservation yesterday and it sounded like there's still single rooms available. I'll be there from the 2nd til the 6th, and then I'm gonna crash on a buddy's couch for the last 2 nites I'm there (I hope).
I got one of those single bed rooms, probably shoulda gotten a bed in a 4 share, but didn't realize it was hostel-style where you could just get a bed, damn. If you get stuck for a place to stay lemme know - we could probably squeeze 2 people in there.

Guess I better give them a call tomorrow. spdfrk, If I come up on the 6th it would be in the middle of the night after a gig. Thanks for the offer but you probably don't want me knock knock knocking at your door at 3 in the morning. I may still drive up late at night, that would be better than fighting the morning lower mainland traffic like I usually do when I come up midweek. Depending on cost I could end up in my car with 10F bag and thermarest (so comfy) anyway.

I'll probably have room in my condo Sunday night the 12th if anyone is sticking around and looking for a place to stay that night.

Also if anyone will be driving from Whistler to Seattle on Monday I might need a ride.

Looks like I'm a little late to this party. I'll be around for the first part of the summit (WA) for turns at Alpental or Crystal. Can't do W/B. Official duty calls me elsewhere...

    UPDATE

    Tentative plans for me:

March 9 - Whistler; meet at Gondi at village at 815 and ski

March 10th - Tour in the bc - TBD. PM if you need to arrange for rentals from escape route. I will call them and let them know you guys are coming and you can then rent directly from them at a discount.

7pm - eat at Sushi Village in village (its on the 2nd floor above Blacks the pub) - I would get a private room - will reserve for 20 people.

    http://www.sushivillage.com/en/contact.htm 604-932-3330.

March 11th - Tour in the bc - TBD.

5.30pm - eat at Carambas in village (close to main square in village) - will reserve for 20 people (NOTE NEW TIME _ its early as they won't book that many people in at prime time)

    Caramba Restaurante
    604-938-1879
    12-4314 Main Street RR 4,
    Whistler, BC V0N 1B4

March 12 - not sure since its a travel day for most of you.

Anyone bucking the trend and hitting W/B this weekend instead of WA? I'll be up there both weekends.

I'm arriving this Friday in Whistler, with my brother-in-law who is quite unaware of the maggot infestation to come. I thought I'd surprise him. He's only staying until late Monday morning so we'll probably hit both mountains over the weekend.

Just guessing now, but we'll ski Whistler Saturday, Blackcomb Sunday.

Anyone else up at the same time?
