OK, next time I'm in Colorado, I will hang with Blurred and that crew, even if I can't walk by the end of the day. You guys always seem to deliver the sickest shots. Well done.

Cool! I hope I don't get a class today. Will be looking for youse guys at Loveland for sure. You know what my helmet looks like and I'll have my beautiful new skis on - 180 Explosivs. Maybe you won't be able to see me because I'll ski by you soooooo fast. I'll prolly go straight to the ridge if it's open and otherwise do chair one laps until I hook up with somebody.

As for stories - I can tell the red and white one. We were coming down into River Run pretty late to do one more lap and that last stretch gets kinda sketch for the gapers at that time of day. Some chick in a teal bogner and a lot of makeup was laying on the ground with her left knee in an unnatural position. As an EMT, Summit had to stop to render first aid. As a former patroller, I had to help too. But it was very cool because we just got to work and everything clicked. Textbook. We ended up helping patrol do all the packaging and they were very grateful and complementary about it.

I haven't done any first aid in a while now, so it was good to know that the procedures are still somewhere between my ears. The woman didn't have a life threatening injury, but if she did we would have handled it perfectly. And I'd work a car wreck or anything that came along with Summit - he was very easy to work with...

Also, there was a little girl in the group and she had on a Keystone ski school pin. It had her ski level on it, so I knew exactly what she was capable of doing. I was able to ski her down pretty efficiently. When I give out pins I tell the kids to put them on their backpacks to show off when they get back to school, but I'm going to start putting them on their jackets. That information was so helpful in our situation.

Great skiing all day and so fun hanging out with those two. Good kickoff for the new year and I hope for many, many more days like yesterday. Keystone is in better shape than we may see again in our lifetimes...

Now Brett will have to tell the yellow story. Crazy boyfriend.

edit - I might be calling in sick today.

marshal, I'm counting the days til you get back. I don't know exactly how many it is, but I'm counting.

ps - talk to Brett, maybe he could use a roommate. You're too old to live with your mom.

They are having some nice dumps this year finally. But I hope it is them getting back to normal instead of an anomaly. Do you have any data on what thier average base was a decade ago? I seem to remember them doing better a long time ago than what they have been for the last 6 years or so.

Yeah, no data here, but my anecdotal understanding is that Colorado has been in a multi-year drought. Maybe this year is regressing to the long term mean. No complaints.

SheRa, bummer we didn't catch you. Did you make it up? Loveland rules, and I am sick that I didn't buy a pass there this year. We just couldn't believe how FAST you can ski expert terrain there - like the backcountry. We caught the opening of the Summit Chair for some freshies, too. Sooo much fun.

OTR and the little secret stash it holds = the SHIT shhhh....
    Chocolate? This is doodoo, BABY!
