    Party vs. Powder

With so many areas looking good for tomorrow, who is forgoeing the partying tonight to get up early tomorrow? Or maybe you can still party until 2:00 am and get up at 5:00 am.

    Angry

I will probably not go out tonight and hit LCC tomorrow. It's a combination of being sick, and not really wanting to put any effort into going out and wanting to shred tomorrow. Got it?

I already have almost ~30 days. 15-20 of which loosely qualify as powder days. Skiing with a hangover sucks. Running in traffic sucks. I am partying like it's 1999 and going to RMNP for a late morning tour. Monday is my first of the year.

Heh - we had this discussion up at the bar after skiing today. We're going out, but not staying out late at all to make it up early tomorrow. And a few of our non-regular-skiing friends just sat there with jaws dropped - you're skipping partying all night for a powder day??? Duh.

My friend and I were discussing a few classic "would you rather" questions. What it came down to was how debating long would you go without sex to get untracked 4% nipple deep pow all day? This is related to the topic at hand I believe. I wonder if some people would say "Shit bro I would go months for a day like that," but would still sleep through tomorrow to party tonite?

Party until the tram opens and fucking rip it up, ski in your neon one piece and pull a daffy over those homos with Spyder jackets and fancy music playing helmets. It is unfortunate that the road was closed and those awake could not straight line to the top because of control work. I think the best thing to do would have been falling asleep at 11, wake at 9, take four vicodin and wait in line while listening to Manson and making out with your girlfriend. Happy 2006.

I compromised. I stayed home, swilled a few stiff ones, got up at 8:30, fed the animals, cooked breakfast, had several coffee and Baileys, hopped in the truck, dumped out the sled and managed to tour about 5,000 vertical of beautiful powder. There'd have to be some pretty hot prospects to miss a good powder day. Could explain why I'm single and not too concerned about it.

Of course it could just be that I'm really not that attractive also, although my touring partner thinks I'm okay.

I stayed out til 03h30, to bed by 4, and up by 8 for freshies all day.

The mountain didn't wake up til noon, and then it was lunch time.
By the time the crowd arrived, we were across the mountain.

We had fresh all day, to the end (15h30!).

    Happy New Year!

p.s. There was one dude who stayed up all night, and was on 1st lift with us.
Bravo to Malta for making the effort while reaking like a gin mill.
