    EC conditions--wassup??

Before all you fuckers start drinking too much and are lost until the second, what's going on? Some snow, some mixed precip here in the City so far, a lot of big, fat flakes though.
I'll be at Mt. Snow tomorrow irregahdless, and skiing somewhere on Wednesday (Huntah? Mt. Snow? MRG? Stowe? all are possibilities).

just after I finished weed wacking around my shed, the snow started to fall. About 2 inches here in the Mid Hudson Valley. Sadly, the man will keep me down until next Saturday when I'll be Stratton bound. How are the Catskills holding up? Haven't been there yet this year...

Hey Dex. Just came down an hour ago from 5 days in So-Vt., not much going on but frozen granular on major blown trails. There was semi decent natural cover til the rains at X-mas, also a lot of rain this week, now frozen, the couple inches they'll get tonight won't go too far.

Hey what do you want, it's the annual holiday thawsoakfreeze.

    Happy New Years.

Can I work on my drinki now?

Yeah, go ahead, still hoping that something goes meteorologically askew and it pukes up there, but I guess there's a better chance of me going heliskiing this week than there is of that.

Yup, just enough to cover the ice and hide the mud until about noon. It was snowing harder in the Bronx than up this way. Maybe you could go find the old rope tow area in Van Cortlandt Park I hear it used to be pretty sweet

well, that sucked. But if you're a glass half full person, next weekend should be good with a bit more snow.

So, what's the latest? Still going somewhere tomorrow. Sunday wasn't too bad with three to four inches of fresh at Mt. Snow, but it was fucking crowded. Hadn't skied there on a weekend in awhile, let alone a holiday weekend.
    Hope it's not raining now.

Seriously, Dex, watch the Catskill reports. It's not doing much of anything north of here. I doubt Vermont got anything. Although the weekend looks better.

I'm just south of the Catskills and we have 6 inches of wet heavy snow. Higher elevations and where it may be a bit cooler, that could easily be a foot. Huntah was reporting 8 inches by 7:30 this am. Probably still accumulating...

    Dex -

Sorry for not returning your calls.....and as you already know the conditions on the least coast are hurting at best. Crossing fingers that these next few systems will drop some thing other than 'R'.

    I'll be up this weekend.

My boss who lives near Thunder Ridge in NY didn't make it to work today due to about 8" of fresh there. Might be good for some close by NYC night skiing.

Sugarbush was ass all weekend. Rock hard and no fresh to speak of. I would have had a better time staying home and pounding my nuts with a ballpeen hammer all weekend. It would at least have been cheaper.

Me think Platekill could be the right call for this weekend. My guess is they got over a foot. I'm sure Butternut, Catamount and Sundown did well too, but I can't imagine why a Mag would want to ski there.

OTOH, the NWS out of BTV is calling for snow starting Wed night and continuing through Saturday. Might be smart to hold off on any decisions until Thursday or so when the wx picture tightens up.

I'll be there tonight if anyone's thinking of getting in some fun night turns. I'd love to cross paths with some fellow mags!
