Mammoth - Where to stay - Jan 7th

I have never skied Mammoth before.....only done BC trips down there.

The Missus and I have a 2 year anniversary next weekend (dating that is), and we were going to head down.

Any tips? Preferably without a two night minimum.

Also, any way to get a lift tix for under $70?

    Huckwheat,

We are actually going to be down there on the 6th and 7th also although I have no idea where we are going to be staying. Maybe some cheap motel in Bishop or maybe even camping down there. All I know is the skiing is going to be free (courtesy of DG's work gold pass).

Huck, I don't know of any discounts for weekend tickets. There are many of us with season passes (MVP's) that have coupons for mid-week tix at $37/day and each coupon is good for up to 5 people for 5 days (non-weekend multi-day ticket). Ask around here, or on the Mammoth boards for those coupons (mine are already gone). Most of the 2 night minimum places include lift tix: http://www.visitmammoth.com/Packagesfr.html

As for where to stay - check out visitmammoth.com for ski/lift packages. There are lots of them.

The one in bishop is clean, cheap, and offers king size beds at no extra cost for the anniversary. Mammoth usually fills up early for weekends and costs a bit more.
I've concluded that DJSapp was never DJSapp, and Not DJSapp is also not DJSapp, so that means he's telling the truth now and he was lying before.
