    Question K2 Burnin' Luv Query

Any ladies ski these? Or any of the Luv series for that matter (One Luv, True Luv, etc.).

Girlfriend is on 10 year old boards and needs to upgrade stat. Was thinking the Burnin' or the One. She's 5'0" and 114lbs- any size suggestions would also be appreciated.

Shit, while we're at it- any other ski suggestions for a small, very athletic, burgeoning agro skier-girl?

    Thanx much.

As always, this thread is useless without pics. I have a friend who is probably 20 lbs heavier than your girl who skis Phat Luvs (approx 167s) and says they're great and she rips. Not much of a description for you though.....

Phat's are no good (for now anyway)- too much ski under foot.

Thanks anyhow. Pics when she drops her first Mansfield icefall.

How about getting out of bed earlier and actually skiing.

    It was really quite good.

Just read the rest of your post for other suggestions. My gal skis on Rossi T4s as her AT rig. Pretty wide but she could maybe try some T3s. They are a tele ski so the flex is softer so some lighter, less aggressive folks might like that. Also, some 160 ish PEs over on telemarktips.com right now. It was a package AT deal but it was around $400 for some type of Dynafit boots, PEs, skins, and small Freerides.

Yeah, that was a lazy, hazy day. Got 2 runs in on Spruce before the lift shut down and we pulled the cord- heading back to Boston. Won't let that happen again.

    See ya post Thaw/Freeze.

    Marshal- thanx fer the suggestion.

My sis tried out the burnin luv and liked it in the bumps but found it just too turny. She really liked the lotta luv, and found it good in the soft stuff and had good edge grip on the hard stuff. I wasnt there when she skied them but just passin on what she thought

    odd.
I think they have the same sidecut.
Lotta is the pumped up and fatter version of the Burning.
That being said, they both would have too much sidecut for my tastes.

    But, chicks dig them.
It really helps to have flowers and shit because it puts gals in the happy place and they ski better and rip the shit outta shit.

I would have voted for Lotta or Burning Luv for EC.
Lotta is more versatile in deep snow and would even work well out west (wife luvs it so far, but has not had a chance to really push its limits).
Burning is more of a hardpack ski.
The One luv is the pussy ski.

For length, the big 167 is great for tall and 130+ chicks. The 160 would be good for her, but you coudl even go smaller, but I'm guesing her 10 year old sticks are longer than 170, so 160 may be short enough for her.
    Kill all the telemarkers
But they’ll put us in jail if we kill all the telemarkers
    Telemarketers! Kill the telemarketers!
Oh we can do that. We don’t even need a reason

my ex-roomie skied the burnin' luvs for about a week and sold them off. She said the only thing they were good for was carving groomers. Then she picked up a pair of PE's (04/05 model) and loves them. She's a fairly aggro skier.

    So...i'd suggest the Miss Demeanor.

i was going to say the same thing. something more fun/play/woods oriented might be the ticket (foil etc). plus all the kids love those new backwards skiin skis.

I saw a pair of 159 04/05 Public Enemies at REI this week for $220. This was at a store in Chicago. Just wanted to point out a good deal on a K2 ski that some ladies have liked.
    Aggressive in my own mind

I gave my girlfriend a pair of Atomic REXs 177cm a couple of seasons ago. She`s 5`7" 125#, very athletic and rips in almost all terrain and snow conditions. She loves these skis, but I think Atomic changed the model name and offers a couple versions very similar. The dimensions are 115-84-107. I`d also recommend a similarly shaped Dynastar, Rossi, or Black Diamond. I`d go with a 170-ish size for your girlfriend.

My gal abhors flowers and fufu stuff on her gear, but she out-skis most guys anyway. Personally, I won`t buy skis from a company that used to trumpet their US-made status, then moved production to China and hired Dan Quayle as an executive.

Even on the Ice Coast, no reason not to take the Lotta Luv's over the Burnin's. Missdemeanor would also be a good call, as well as the Dynastar Exclusive Legend or the Rossi B2W/B3W.
It's heartbreaking to see a chick who's too anorexic.

I really disliked the B2W. On anything. Though maybe at 5'8" I'm just too big for it, who knows. I just didn't think it was even any good on groomed - quite possibly the noodliest ski I've ever been on. At 5'0" maybe it's better.
