    a little opinion check..

So I've got a little internetspace available, which I'd like to use for skiing related stuff.. (plus, I'm bored whilst not skiing ) What would maggots think of an 'invite only' site, that would be a prime source for (not so super-)'secret' stashes at resorts around the world?

My (basic & rough) idea is: Local peeps get to invite 1 or 2 (non-local) friends, (they vouch for them) so there'd be a 'worthy' public to add & enjoy knowledge from around the world. I'm aware that locals can be quite territorial and don't want to share their stashes with non-locals, but maybe this could be some sort of compromise?

    Agreed!

talking about skiing is fine, but get out there and do it!

Skiing is a sport, but moreso a lifestyle!

Yah, agreed, sadly. "Secrets" on the net are jokes, in a big way - if anything good got out in the super-secret world domination Internet Lair, it'd be, oh, hours before it wound up here or on teletips. Even something as simple as "skier's right off chair A at Bigass Mountain" is enough - the vast majority of "stashes" I know are RIGHT THERE (if you're looking). IE, super easy to ski right past, if you're not looking for it - but if someone tells you to look....

Neato enough concept, I guess, but even if I were invited, I'd be reluctant to share my stashes - and I've got some good ones - because I put the time into finding them, breaking the traverses in well-hidden spots, etc etc etc.

I'll _TAKE_ anyone who asks to my little happy places. Post on the Net? Never. Sorry.

Neato concept, but (imho) flawed - the goods would be public knowledge in no time, if you ask me.

Plus, there are no stashes in Colorado. None. The only trails are the ones on the map, and everything is tracked out by noon.

the best (and only) way to learn stashes is to ski with a maggot. that's a lot more fun than getting written directions, anyway.
