Unless they've been sleeping under a rock, most Californians likely already know that the Sierras got another series of storms around Xmas. Just testifyin' here in Mammoth that it was a fine fresh 12 inches of pow today and it was still coming down when we left at 3. More is expected during the week/WE so they are close to a 100" this month! Pow is piled up on some icy hardpack from last week so if the wind picks up before it sets, we could lose some of it ... NOT. I'm pretty sure this layer is here for good but backcountry fans beware of avvys. This is textbook stuff.
I'm off to Tahoe for a few days and then back in Mammoth for NYE.
