    Question AT bootfitters in Idaho

I apologize if this is the wrong forum, I'm sorta new here. Anyway I'm in the market for a pair of AT boots (probably the Garmont Adrenalin or possibly the Scarpa Denali TT) and I wanted to get them fit correctly. I live in Boise so I have easy access to Sun Valley. Can someone recommend a bootfitter in the area who either specializes in, or has a lot of experience with, AT boots?

    Thanks!

Yeah I'm upset about Bogus... and with their financial situation they can't afford to be closed this time of year. I hope this doesn't end up being the last straw for them.

I would second the Greenwood's. They do have good boot fitters there and are equipped for footbeds and what not. They have a "guaranteed fit" deal as well, whatever that means.

DJ (Don) at Greenwoods. He skis in Adrenalins and is one of the better fitters in town right now. They carry the TT too I think. I know IMT has them both but the Greenwoods folks might have the edge in dialing in your boot.

Yeah-you might get flamed for not having this in Tech Talk.

Thanks for the advice guys. I actually did go to Greenwoods last night and tried on the Adrenalins, as well as the G-Ride but I don't think the G-Ride is going to be the right choice for me since I'm looking for the best downhill performance. They didn't have the Denali TTs though.

You can beef up the G-Ride easily. Lou Dawson has an article on a pair of Lasers he did and the G-Ride can be done the same way.

same thing I was thinking last night.....may not be the last straw for them as a ski area, but maybe the last straw for Steve Shake and his management team. I've seen that place make some of the worst financial decisions in the last few years. Over $500k in the red isn't a good sign of good ski area management.

I don't know what the full advantages Bogus gets for being a Non-Profit so I don't know if that designation has a positive or negative effect on the bottomline. Basically, they have been screwed by the weather the last couple of years. The decision two years ago to not allow night skiing on the backside was pretty stupid. I just think the combo of the $200 pass and the sick snow year in 2000 gave them a huge cash infusion and great boost, 25K season passes sold that year. They are down to what 15K sold this year?
That is $2 million right there.

Don at Greenwoods is the man! Not only a skilled bootfitter, but, he even took the time to not only trim my climbing skins, but even showed me how to do it.

For my bootfitting needs I go to Ski Tek in Ketchum. I have had Brent and Ben work on my boots. Both do excellent work.

Ski Tek in Ketchum. Ask for Jeremy. Guy is a genius and a very good dude.
