I personally can't believe people are recommending Red Wings. I must have a totally different foot type than everyone else. They were the worst fitting boot I have ever worn.

Karl, a key thing to mention to the bootfitter you talk to is how you are destroying boots. Are you blowing out stitching? Are you wearing out soles?

I've worn Danners and Red Wings and neither compares to my West Coast's.

If they act quickly and kept your shit on ice, the hot dog could be saved.

I've concluded that DJSapp was never DJSapp, and Not DJSapp is also not DJSapp, so that means he's telling the truth now and he was lying before.

Granted, it's been a while since I bought a pair, but they used to have different widths in addition to different lengths. So provided the salesperson knows what the hell their doing, they should be able to fit most anyone.

Boots over 8" high don't blow so much in water over 8" deep. FWIW.

I'll second the Iron Age stuff. Some of the miners at work use em, and if they use, they gotta be good. The Gergia's are posted are the shit though.

About the steel toe... I have heard the theory that they are not safe. The logic is that if something really heavy lands on your foot (like a tree or machine), then the steel toe will either slice off your toes, or crimp them, making a very difficult job of getting your destroyed foot out of there. IE they could make a very bad accident worse. Now if you drop a hammer on your toes they would come in handy.
BS, I've seen a guy with Steel Toe / Metatarsals have his foot run over by a peice of heavy machinery, no injury....

I had Wolverine Work boots before . These boots lasted less than a year. Both soles totally broke across the bottom. I have never seen anything like this! The last pair of boots lasted 3 years! Now I have Tımberland Pro Men's Endurance . It has durable features such as a safety-toe, non-slip rubber outer sole, plus, anti-fatigue technology make these work boots stand up to just about anything. Not only are they comfortable and great for those with back and knee problems, the 8” shaft offers substantial support for your ankles. However, I would suggest selecting half a size larger than your average shoe size, as they tend to run small.
