    best pants for riding powder

    howdy -
so i've always worn pants and a parka when snowboarding. I usually situate myself with my base layer tucked into my pants and powder skirt of my parka pulled down over pants. Inevitably, though, when I take a tumble in powder I end up with snow on my lower back/ass. It seems that base layer/powder skirt get pulled up above my waist even just bending over to latch bindings (plumber butt anyone?). In any case, I was wondering what solutions people have found for this problem. Should I get some overalls? I've never worn them, are there downsides that I might not know about? Thanks for yer thoughts.

You need to work on your pickup lines.

Seriously, though, I'm going to go ahead and disagree with Sphinx on this one- if you don't wear pants, you can't get any snow down your pants. I suggest you just start riding in a long trenchcoat and nothing else.

ninjabirdman, bibs are for babies. or women who always complain about getting cold.

there's a better solution. put a couple of snaps on the powder skirt, and a couple of snaps on the back of the pants (near, or on, the belt loops). snap 'em together. problem solved.

some brands (like bonfire) have already figured this out, and come with the snaps already in place.

Both options availible with the above mentioned Lofoten Pants, snaps on all Norrøna skiing ajckets and pants. Best of both. Btw. the pants also come with an extra snowskirt that zips on where there bib was and can replace the snowskirt in the Norrøna jackets. Snowproof, doesn't pop off in landings/buckling.[/spam, but I didn't start it ]

The best pants for riding powder are black. Size XXXXXL. And don't forget the chin strap.

    Bib's are for skiers, dududude
If you board, you gotta have your ass hanging out, and show off your boxers. You know that.
Same if you ride in the park, on Twintips.
If you do get a bib, 2 planks will soon follow.
Plenty of cheap, or expensive bib's out there, if you want to risk it...
put a couple of snaps on the powder skirt, and a couple of snaps on the back of the pants
Didn't realize 'boarders were so hot for needlework. Don't forget to embroider the border. Any chance of some macrame too ?
