One of the saddeest moments ever was getting in my car - in my work clothes - and leaving lph's driveway yesterday morning as everyone else is hooting and hollering and heading to Kwood for a day of fun. Very, very sad .

But so glad you guys got the goods after hauling ass in the middle of the night. Hilarious to wake up and see Hop and Pu out in the game room up and ready to go after just a couple hours of sleep.

Did you guys leave any for the rest of us for this weekend??

Ahhhhh yeah, redemption day. For Tahoe and myself.

Me and my buds made the super duper ultra secret non-KT early morning call and got first chair and lapped Granite Chief 3 friggin times before the masses made their way over to the back bowls of Squaw Valley. It was friggin amazing. It was a private ski area for about 1 hour. Not more than 20 people on GC for the first 3 laps. Insano.

Also, the air I got absolutely played on (30 feet to dry rock) last year I got redeemed on today. No turn for the camera, no pretty spray, just point and stomp. Felt good, especially with the images of last years splat still on my mind.

day 3 of goodness @ alpine: scott finally spun and had a few nice untracked runs there. temps were rising fast and by 11am promised land was mank...

it was bluebird and beautiful out there today, just wish it hadn't gotten so damn warm

they opened the hikes today too: made 3 slogs out to estelle for some sweet untracked goodness and a nice air off the cliff bands back there - was fun. by 1 it was done. heavy snow and tracked out. but a great 3 days were had, so no complaints as a week ago it was pissing rain. looks like a high pressure ridge is back in palce for a few days....

glad that everyone finally found their slice of Tahoe pow over the last few days. has been fun reading this thread and seeing everyone go from the stoke of the initial storms to the depression and rage of the rain and finally redemption this week in a great cold storm with good snow. stoked that everyone got after it and had fun.

next time i will let someone else start the thread when the next storm cycle looms

That's funny , I felt that way about KT today, NOBODY riding KT all day, everyone up top , still getting totally untracked chutes at 4pm in the Aaahhh chutes complex. Got first tracks through the oly diagonal chute at 11am.... while all the masses were at granite. It was my private KT for about 7 hours today!

Walter, this is the Spur at 3:00 PM Tuesday. Things were sliding a bit and I think they closed it right behind me.

The backside was PWNED yesterday. Had first chair on 4 after a typical Kirkwood Chair 4 powder race and first tracks down skiers left of soulsearcher (or whatever it's called). Followed it up with two more runs down there before I ran into HASKINS, did a run with him and then ended the day down the handrail. Sweet day with conditions from smooth windpack to more or less bottomless. Will post a couple of pictures later today.

He didn't do anything big on the one run I did with him, but he had a sore neck when I met him at the lift.

I talked to Zippy on Tuesday....his thoughts on the day mirrored everyone else's. He stated that the usual spots were dropped. Kodak..."normal back splat, but no knee to the face" was left on my voicemail. For people who don't know, its probably the flattest air at Kirkwood.

thats a statement, considering not a single huck at the wood has a landing with a pitch greater than 12.5 degrees

and I call bullshit on a Zippy backslap.

Just got into South Lake lastnight after 34 hours of driving (17.5 hours the 1st day, 10 the 2nd and after a day at the basin the final 7 to south lake) and a pow day at Snowbasin with the meats. Not skiing today do to the need to find a job and open a bank account and such, but who is around tomorrow/the rest of the winter

So umm when is going to snow again?

There were one or two tracks down there later that day. Maybe next time with an early chair on 4 and more predictable snow...
