Yesterday the big reported no snow on top or in the base area, funny thing is when we pulled into the parking lot there was 3" of fresh fluff on the ground. So we get on chair 1 and about a hundred feet up it starts puking big fat flakes, this continues almost to the top of Ptarmigan bowl, and then we bust out into sunshine on the peak with an inversion below and more whispy clouds up above. It is true that the top of the mountain had received no new snow, but in lower sections of the mountain I was skiing 6" of fresh superlite snow, making big fat pow turns and nobody was there. Even this morning the big reported no new snow on top or in the base area. If you weren't there yesterday, you wouldn't know that a few of us were taking lap after lap of really sweet turns on the lower 75% of the mountain. I hate high pressure, but now I really like snog, and I also like resorts that underreport their snowfall.
I also wanted to say that Jamie Pierre's cliff drop in Engelberg, Switzerland in the photo annual is so phucking sick I can't stop looking at it. Talk about sacking up, I keep the photo annual in my desk at work and I have to show that pic to everyone that comes in my office, that may get my vote as the best shot ever to grace powder.
