    ++++++ Vibes sent.

    My dad has had bypass surgery twice...the first time a quadruple, the second time (8 yrs later) a triple. Positive thoughts.

    Thank you all so much - you are (collectively) the greatest, but you already knew that, right

    Anyway, I got to hang out with him for about an hour before they wheeled him in, and that was really pretty special for me. I had never seen him cry before, which was tough, but he was only worried about his wife and two boys.

    I am really proud of him and have a good feeling that things wil go smoothly. I will certainly update here sometime tonight to convey the good news.

    Your thoughts and prayers mean a great deal to me.

    From what you've told me, your dad is good at healing himself. All the best for his recovery. I know how worrying it is to have a sick parent. I suppose we probably worried them enough as we grew up and they are getting their own back! A good friend said to me the other day, "Do you know what they need to invent? Parent glue."

    Thinking of you bro, call me anytime.
    It's a GOOD thing that they caught the blockages before heart damage was done. Too often, they are not caught in time.
    Best wishes to you and your family.

    Hey Karl, my uncle went through a similar deal when he was visiting, thought he had the flu turns out it was a weeklong low level heart attack. They took him in and fired through a quad bypass asap. He's fine now but it scared the crap out of me and my family. Thoughts are with you and the girls.

    Thanks again, all. Just spoke with my mom; he's out of surgery, still on ventilator, but squeezing her hand. Should be o.k., though, as we expected, and I am so grateful to have so many wonderful friends here. I will update tomorrow, but things seem stable for now. Sincerest appreciation, RK

    Karl, I went through this about five years ago with my father. Today he's 65, healthy, and once again teaching skiing.

    I'm sure your dad will pull through. I'll be thinking of you guys.

I bet he feels more energetic and his color is better than ever shortly. Be very glad he caught it before it caught him. You have every reason to be optimistic now...

    My grandmother at age 86 had the same operation done. She lived another 10 years to 96 after that. If she could live out 10 more years to 96 then I'm sure your dad will be just fine!
