6 bypasses for my dad this afternoon - stressed

The old "went in for tests, now scheduled for emergency bypass surgery". I am sure that many here have been through this with their parents, and it should be no problem from what the doctors are saying, but I sure do love my dad, and hope he still gets to ski soon since he was supposed to get in the car this weekend to drive to Colorado.

I owe everything to him, especially my love for skiing; mom and dad met in the lunchline at the Aspen Sundeck in 1965, which is pretty cool.

I couldn't help thinking (and posting) of this when I saw Frozen's post earlier - I know that I have many, many great friends here, and the support you get here is about the best in the world. Ironic, huh.

Anyway, thanks for reading this - I know he'll be a champ and hope that this post is moot by this evening. Sorry to be a worrier.

Rocky, you have every right to worry, 6 bypasses, i am with Ice on this one, didn't know that there could be that many. But be happier that they caught this now instead of too late. But medical technology and skill has come a long way, your pop will be fixed up better than before and live a better/longer life after this. Best wishes to you and your family, its always stressful the more you love the person.

I resolve PC issues remotely. Need to get rid of all that pr0n you downloaded on your work laptop? Or did you just get a ton of viruses from searching for "geriatic midget sex"? Either way I can fix them. PM Me for maggot prices.

I work for an insurance company and see hundreds of health applications a week. 4,5 and 6 bypasses are a lot more common than one would think and have a very high success rate, so don't sweat it. I've been in the waiting room for two family friends getting quadruples and it does take awhile and that is the longest time ever or so it seems and definitely sucks, but a few months down the road, those two felt great.

    Prayers sent.

Better to catch it now and get it taken care of, right?

Rocky, you have every right to be worried, no need for a sorry.

I don't know you, or your family, but from the stories I hear from others here that you are very close to, I wish you and your dad and family only the best of the best.

Prayers sent and I one day hope to meet you. If this ever happens at Alta, please read my sig (i.e. I have a REAL hard time keeping up).

While I have a lot of faith in what doctors and surgeons can do, I totally understand.

Good luck to him, to you, and to the rest of your family getting through this.

Praying for you over here, Mr. Stall- My uncle just had open heart surgery yesterday, originally was going to have a valve repaired and one replaced but they opened him up and it turned out they didn't even have to replace one of them! He's already awake in the hospital and things are looking good, all this after we almost lost him to congenital heart failure just 2 months ago. We'll be praying hard and I'm sure your dad will be up and at'er in no time!!!
