    PNW... Extended forecast is f**ked

Ok... so I'm doing exams right now at UBC, and I'm done tomorrow (14th), so I'm like sweet, I'll get to do tons of sweet skiing, seeing as how it's December, and there are NORMALLY tons of dumps. I just checked the weather networks 14 day trend... and there is only one day of freakin' precipitation between now and the 27th. That is TERRIBLE... It's already looking sparse up there, with no precip. it's only gonna get worse.

Guess, I'll just have to get wasted all the time, burn some old skis. Probably get out and do some touring as well.

I'm just so choked, it's feeling too much like a repeat of last year, minus the warm temps.... The cold temps are there, there just ain't any precip.

Anyway just my little rant. Feel free to share any thoughts or insight into this terrible weather phenomena. Otherwise... BRING ON THE STORMS

I know... If it turns into a repeat of last season I don't know what's gonna happen. Though I doubt that. Lets keep hoping for the best here.

yeah this is really starting to get old. That high pressure is just rerouting any precip. I am supposed to be taking an RAC this weekend, and it doesn't look like there will be much to see as far as snowpack. december is normally the top month for snowfall at whistler (I think), and so far, nothing. I am gonna be gone from 21st to 30th, it better damn well start snowing during that time, I have some brand new gotamas that are itching to go

It has really been feast or famine so far. At least it has remained fairly cold for the most part. But yeah, we could use another storm cycle. I'm hopeful we'll bust out of this high pressure in a few days.

Accuweather and the Weather Network don't seem to agree at all - Accuweather shows precip starting on the 20th for Whistler and continuing through the end of the 15-day forecast (28th). So hopefully TWN is just totally out to lunch on this one.

Unfortunately, a road trip is out for me as my car is currently on a ship on the Atlantic. And I have to work at Baker all next week. Que sera or some shit to that effect. I will be on the snow anyhow.

tried the road trip. no go unless you're heading out of B.C. period! Big White & the interior resorts are all just as dry

All I can say is it better turn around fast, cuz i don't know how much more rock damage my skis can take!

I never said you had to limit your road trip to the PNW. Honestly, we're already ahead of last year. All this bitchin' and moanin' isn't going to change a thing.

BTW - here's a hint: Don't ski in rock fields.

I'm done with exams at UBC on the 17th. I'm heading south, probably hit the WA resorts a little bit, then up to Whistler on the 26th. I also have a brand new pair of Gotamas mounted up and whining in the corner. It has to snow sometime soon...

If we have a repeat of this year, I'm gonna wait one more year for it to turn around. If not, I'm going to the UofU.

Benjamin: Mrs. Robinson, you didn't... I mean, you didn't expect...
    Mrs. Robinson: What?

    Mrs. Robinson: Like what?
    Benjamin: What do you think?
Mrs. Robinson: Well, I don't know.
Benjamin: For god's sake, Mrs. Robinson. Here we are. You got me into your house. You give me a drink. You... put on music. Now you start opening up your personal life to me and tell me your husband won't be home for hours.
    Mrs. Robinson: So?
Benjamin: Mrs. Robinson, you're trying to seduce me.
    Mrs. Robinson: [laughs]
    Benjamin: Aren't you?

Stifler's Mom: I got some scotch.
    Finch: Single malt?

    Wink

chin up, chin up, I say!

It'll turn around next week. Anything so far has been better than last y(not going to say it).

The forecast gets less boring as we head into Sunday. For the most part, it will be a dry day, but expect increasing clouds late in the day. By Monday, it should start raining around here, and at this point, the rain should stretch into Tuesday. We should stay cool enough that the mountains should finally get some new accumulations, which is great news for those headed to the ski slopes.

    Patience.

A brutal December often brings a sweet March. Remember 2003? I think it snowed all month. Even last year, after all the rock stars had given up on Whistler, March and April were great.

That's nice, but that's not even close to what NOAA is saying, and they're not as bad as the local idiots.

I think (no, I know) I'm going to get some gnar-shredding done rights in AB starting tomorrow, and then I'm off to Hawaii for 12 days! I'll be back in Whistler for mid-Jan, otherwise I'm taking my $$$ elsewhere (Baker, Tahoe, Baker, Baker...)
