Tip is a three letter word

Alright, I searched, but could not find.
I was wondering what is the cause of tip dive in powder? Is it a stiff tip? A soft one? Forward Mounting? Skis too short? I am angry at my (-2?) powder pluses in a 165. They are fat enough that they should not dive.

    thanks

    165 is pretty damn short.

    Ditto, ditto, ditto, ditto and...ditto.

Edit: Speed is also a factor. The slower you ski,the more likely you are to experience tip dive. Keep your speed up, and your weight slightly back from where you would have it if you were on hard pack, and you will float better. If keeping your weight slightly back is too hard on your legs/uncomfortable/disconcerting, then you need longer skis. Also, some stats would help. How tall are you, how much do you weigh, where do you ski, etc.

Solid skier, not amazing...but pretty good. Double black is the preferred run if that means anything.

I just have to lean so far back I get shin bang... new skis needed? The p+ is up to my nose.

Agreed on the length issue......not bad for your weight but at 5-9 you can lever a bigger board....you will also get more stability.....one more thing is a longer ski will be able to deflect a bit more letting the tips flex upward giving you more floation and with more ski to bend a smoother ride.
