    Performance enhancing? (NSR, MTBR)

    Houseman suspended over THC positive

    By VeloNews Interactive

Gary Houseman, who won the rain-soaked UCI World Cup downhill July 12 at Grouse Mountain, British Columbia, has accepted a one-year suspension after testing positive for tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) at that race, the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) announced Friday.

THC, a metabolite of marijuana, is a prohibited substance under UCI regulations.

The suspension for the 23-year-old ITS-Santa Cruz rider, from Temecula, California, began on July 12. All results that occurred on or after that date - including his Grouse Mountain downhill win - are declared invalid.

Houseman also was fined 2,000 Swiss francs.

    Freakin lame!
Damn those governing commies! When are they gonna realize its not performance enhancing in the typical sense. It's enhancing for me. Cuz it sure enhances my ski experience. Though you'd think guys that get paid to compete might figure a better way around these tests. Come on look at the steroid use in football, pro? wrestling, heck even good ol baseball. Give us a break, mary jane is just plain good shit!
