Let me put this into perspective for you. You could be living in Tremblant. I would have killed to ski that Sky area today.

    3) Lift lines - long waits and fighting the Eurotrash who cut in line
    4) Chasing powder before it gets tracked out by rushing hoards - China Bowl done by 10:30
    5) $9 Burgers and Beers
    6) Surrounded by Type-Vails
I pretty much agree with everything you just said.

Gotta know stashes and different areas, and ducking ropes doesn't hurt. I especially agree with you on #6, that's why I don't live there anymore.

If you live near Taos, I think it's time you learn to ski. That mountain rocks.

You'd be suprised, tj. Unless it snowed last night, or even this morning, it pretty much sucks. If you are 4 days away from a storm, It's got Volkswagen bumps in the trees. and it's flat.

I live in SF now, nice little mountain, but seriously I've been thinkin about tele gear at Toas for a new kick. I haven't been on 2 planks in 16 years. I can't stand all that good terrain just sittin there taunting me though. Just not sure if my knees will agree? I'm originally from the 4 corners so all this terrain is still a little new to me (5years). I was going to go up and earn myturns on kachina last year, but i hear they don't even allow that? Fuckers....

Glad you're on the gaper tour when you ski Vail. Must explain why Seth skis here all the time. Except the fact that you don't know where to go, okay?

Here's another gay shot from the "flat zone". I'd photoshop, but too damn lazy, and I really don't care. Summit will later on some of the other pics. (he took these )

See? Why didn't you post that in the first place? Did you tail tap that pillow, or are you actually on the backside of it?

I know there's good shit there, but it ain't even there, and you know what I mean. It's just that the palce isn't worth the hassle. Starting with the goddamn parking. I mean, why bother unless the bed and pussy is free?

That pillow is actually a pillar, was a good 10 feet from it.
I'm behind it. It's really fun jumping off things this early in the year.

I agree. The people suck. The parking sucks. Walking through the village sucks. Gapers in fartbags and fanny packs suck. The back bowls suck. The prices suck.

BUT, it's the few areas there (usually OB) that don't suck. Some areas in the OB rival anything in the US.

Sweet review man, I bet you've been there for 2 maybe 3 vacations. Sick. You sesh born free? That's the hot shit.

You skied the trails homie, of course that shit gets tracked. Every gaper in the country is making 700 hop turns down Lover's Leap. I know a bunch of shit back there where its pretty much ALWAYS good. And I bet I don't even know 1/4 of what Brett knows. The ONLY thing I've found Vail lacks is any sustained steeps......

edit- Nice pics B, im jealous. What up on Sunday?
    Drive slow, homie.

*it doesn't take me an hour plus each way to get to vail...must be the weekend traffic...or not getting up early saturday....

    *I carpool...parking's something like $3-$5 a head...I ain't sweatin it...I'm no Kennedy, but I don't cry about 15 bucks either

*liftlines can be avoided with decent regularity

*see my above comments and blurred's above pics

    *I bring a lunch

*surrounded by vail types? I do the surrounding...who cares who else is there

vail's no squaw valley & vice versa...anyone with sense knows this...anyone who likes to ski exploits the positives of any mountain -be it beech mtn norf cackalacka or whistler- instead of focusing on the negative...give it a shot sometime...I'll bet you have some fun....

vail has rock. that doesn't suck and it's worth hunting for.

plus, get friendly with a local in line, talk em up abit, compliment they're mountain, and see if they'll give you a tour for a run or two.

people love to talk about themselves and by extension they're own terrain. Doing just this, I just found out about a whole bunch of new terrain i'd never imagined with good drops and rock picante.

    nice pic, blurry.
scroll to "Buy DVD", very bottom of page http://bhandf.com/bhandf%202008/longform.htm I do not work for Bill, just dig his work.

Burred 11's your insane 'Some areas in the OB rival anything in the US.' The
only thing Flail rivals is the stench of its mediocrity. A purpose built resort
by Texans for Texans. If your some family man taking your once a year ski vacation and you think Disney Orlando is a great time, then Vail is perfect for you and your family.

So glad I live in Utah after reading this thread. Then again, it never snows here and the gapers abound so you really wouldn't want to come here anyways. Probably a better idea to head to Colorado

Okay, lets go. If you find untracked pow at 40 degrees mediocre, maybe the mandatory 100 footer out will wake you up.

This has become a useless conversation. Let them go to Alta already. That's where the goods are.
