Update: I had my lame-ass company party last night. Most gat party ever. One table serving 500 people, ridiculously long line, then the present.....the present....five cookies wrapped in paper and fancy foil.

This morning my boss came around and handed everyone in the office a $500 Christmas bonus. This was totally unexpected (for me at least) because I'm just on a student work-term type of deal. Maybe now I can put the downpayment on the swimming pool (which I wouldn't be able to do if he had given me a membership to the jelly of the month club).

Anyone else receive an early Christmas present?

Yeah I got an early X-mas present........kneee surgery last Friday!!! Woot woot!!! Oh yeah. Just a scope of the meniscus. Should be able to make turns in 10-14 days. Will the first time in about two years skiing without knee pain. (I hope)

My current and prior employers do that. It comes out of the regular vacation fund so I'm not so thrilled by it. I'd rather travel other times of the year.

Yeah, that would suck. Those days count as holidays for me, not vacation.

Work Christmas party yesterday, a lunch in a Quonset hut with a long line and temp tables & folding chairs, woo hoo. But we all got $50 as a gift, more than they've ever given as a "gift" before. I think they got word that people REALLY didn't like the cheap door gifts every year, and so they just skipped the door prizes and bumped up the money. Can't complain.

Heh. We had our Christmas "party" last night... main buffet included such delicacies as nachos, meatballs, chicken wings, and a pasta station. No prizes, no money handed out. May have been the worst party I've ever seen.

This summer I asked my boss if the company would send me to Las Lenas. He said no way, there is no company business for you down there. Then he followed that up by saying that I do need to go to AK this spring to check in on the Heli ski companies and see how our involvement with them is going.

He is indeed a great boss.
