Typical BD product

I had the first years Black Diamond carbon fiber ice axes. Broke both of them in a span of two weeks. One at the top of a route, and the other in the middle of the crux pitch of Stairway to Heaven.

On a good note.....they have the best warranty department you could ever imagine. Always VERY accomodating. Just pop into the local SLC BD warranty office and your out in minutes with replaced gear. No questions asked.

in defense, apparently the '03 is doing well.

the '02's got some kinks, yup siree. hopin' they iron it all out damn quick or else that company's ski dept. is going to puppy chow pretty soon. here's hoping.

one guy i was talking to on Ttips had the opinion either BD makes absolute shiite (pitbull) or bomber gear. they've definitely had both.
