    Alaskan Private Heli Charter-Space Available

    That's right, we're renting a heli.

Actually, there are five guys springing for a private charter and they're looking for 2 more people to fill the trip.

You need to be a strong skier for this trip.

The heli rental is for 7 days and comes with 2 guides, a van, and a fuel truck. 10 hours of flight time is part of the package. That is a ton of heli time.

Accessable terrain will include anything that Chugach Powder Guides has permits for, including the Chugach mountains surrounding Girdwood, the Chugach mountains surrounding Seward, and parts of the Alaska range.

The private allows complete and total control of where we ski, what we ski, the timeframe we ski it in, and how much we ski. For example, if we like a zone that has a run that we want to lap for 5 quick runs, we simply bust it out with the heli waiting at the bottom landing zone with the engine running-barely time to breathe before we're wisked to the top. No waiting for the Heli, ever. Or for example if we want to put in a landing zone on top of a peak that takes some time and logistics to accomplish, we simply do it(If the guides say it's a go). You're never going to get to do that without a private charter because the heli needs to concern itself with the other groups.

In other words, this is exactly the program that the boys of TGR, MSP, etc. run-only we don't have to worry about setting up for filming(except for Conway or I with our handheld digi-cams).

Our guides will be Jim Conway(lead guide for TGR) and Virgil Hughes(co-lead guide for CPG). These two have among the most experience of any heli guides in Alaska. If they can't safely open a peak for skiing, no-one can.

The dates are March 4-12, 2006.

    If you gotta ask...

It's $8500. My normal heli-camp is $7000, so I think this is a great deal-If your the type of person who has that kind of cash in the cookie jar.

Oh great, I been trying to convince the wife to send me to str8's AK camp and now I need to convince her that an extra $1000.00 is nothing for the added beeifit of a private chopper, what do you think the odds are she's going to go for it?

Ooops, edit, March 4-12, damn thats the Summit dates and I'm already booked at Whistler, guess that means I have a whole year to work on the gift angle.

Maybe you should direct your JONG question to the thread starter -- he's the US Team Manager for Eider. And there's more than one Eider athlete on this board, so it's not a completely selfish question.

the real Matt knows that it's spelled "spancered". And Eider makes great hats.. I got one too.

edit: yeah, str8line... so, the team discount comes in at about 95% off, right?
