The techs at Reliable Racing seemed pretty fond of the sixer of Magic Hat #9 we dropped off after they mounted up my skis while I waited.
i tried a sixer of 'frambozen' from new belgium the other day, and can report that it was a brown ale with fruit flavor that is actually worth tasting. you wouldn't want to drink from a keg of this stuff, but a bottle or two is tasty. the raspberry taste was present but not overpowering. the beer still tasted like beer, and not a flimsy beer that was pumped up with some fruity syrup. anyhow, if it's more than the basic four ingredients it shouldn't be called beer... aren't there laws about this kind of thing?
frambozen might be a nice sixer to drop on somebody as a gift. something different that they might not otherwise have the chance to taste...
and pow-dog, as for the hefe trend... i know some very large bavarians that would strongly disagree with your assertions regarding their manhood. dunkelweizen isn't pussified in any way, well, other than maybe the sexified glassware in which it's customarily served. sounds like you need to get out and try a wider variety of beers. the best lambics are not the ones coming from sammy adams... but instead from belgium. seek them out.
