I'm wondering if 1 cm forward without the shim is actually the best of both...
Sort of wishing I'd done it that way in the first place. Gives a little ramp angle and doesn't change/decrease the way the skis ski much. The 1.5-2cm range is pretty noticeable, I found out.
Particularly if you're going to be skiing much in alpine boots, I'd caution against going to far forward at first...
I dunno, it's a bit of a guess either way. Is the ski a little on the aggresssive side for you, or right on? If the former, maybe 1cm up with the shim out? Latter, and maybe just the shim out, but right on the mark?
I dunno, I'd like to hear more from others too...
