I picked up a pair of Atomic AFT adjustable 2-section poles last fall. Last spring, they broke. Specifically, the adjustment wouldn't hold on one of the poles. Taking it (and the other one, for control purposes) apart, I see that the lower sections of these poles terminate in a metal cone with a cylindrical threaded point; these threads screw into a sliding plastic collar, which when expanded, holds the lower in place relative to the upper. On the broken pole, the threaded cylinder sheared off cleanly from the cone. The threaded cylinder on the other pole is bent, but not snapped.
Any ideas on how to fix? Theoretically I could file the two broken surfaces clean, then epoxy -- but that doesn't sound (a) bomber or (b) easy to do. (Plus I'd still be dealing with a bent threaded cylinder on the "good" pole.)
