Post A NEW skiing webzine - Aspect Journal

I tried to post this on powdermag the night the board crashed. Since much of the crew is here now, I'll post it in both places (and thanks to Owens and DT for welcoming the idea...)

    Announcing:

++ Aspect Journal | Lines to ski, stories to tell ++
    http://www.aspectjournal.com

Aspect Journal is a new online publication devoted to grassroots ski literature composed by talented and passionate authors.

Aspect Journal has been in the works for several months and is set to debut in late October. It will be vastly different from existing skiing web sites largely because of what it won't feature: no industry news, no product reviews, no resort profiles, no weather reports, no resort cams, no lodging information, etc. Why not? Because every other skiing web site already has all those.

Instead, AJ is literally an online literary journal, a new webzine if you will, for snow skiers of all ilk--telemark, alpine, randonnee, terrain park, trailer park, you name it. It will be a place to showcase quality writing by both budding and experienced writers. We'll publish storytelling at its best, with a focus on the everyday feelings and experiences we all share as skiers. This is a site for writers who want to get back to the art of writing, and for readers who pine for well-crafted, top-notch content.

Oh, and one other thing: no corporate sponsors. We're doing it for the love.

You can read more about Aspect Journal at our temporary home page. In fact, we're accepting submissions for launch right now. Click above if you're interested.

Hope you all like the idea. There WILL be a message board when the site launches. More to come.

    -K

I'm down with that...sadly it was what originally attracted me to *******. Good to see that the craft of words is still being practiced by the masses.

Great idea, great timing. Anyone have stories to submit?

I waste so much time and energy scribbling thoughtful and witty insults at you all, that I haven't devoted the energy to my writing which it deserves.

So feel free to drop me a note anytime you see something vaguely applicable and I'll rework it for publication.

I'm also a damn good editor and am happy to lend my red ink however you need.

We'll call it The Humor of Lao.

It might not be all that funny, but the writing will be crisp and the pics will give you a woody.
