Difference between Salomon "Pro Model SC" and "Pro Model Gun" ?

I've checked out http://www.salomonski.com/us/product...0018&idtp=3362 but that doesn't really tell me if they have the same fit or flex. The SC lists "Low volume last", but the Gun doesn't. Not sure if that actually means anything though...

I don't care about softex and a shock absorbing footboard, just the fit and flex rating.

    Eh?

From comparing the two, the Gun has the carbonlink, which should stiffy the boot a bit. My courses have the C link and a 130 flex rating. They are stiffer than my old dobermans, so I think the link actually does something to the forward flex. The normal pro model does not have the carbon link, so I would assume it is a tad bit softer.
    Hope that helps

btw: you are wrong. promodel has a carbon link.

they are the exact same boot. diff graphics. either you want the john elway promodel or you don't.

course and promodel (gun and SC) are the exact same, except the pro has the rubber zeppa (so nice) and is made of slightly softer plastic. that is all. all three are the "course last".

softex is the sublimated graphic on the upper cuff, beneath the buckles (whoptiy do, basil)

They both have the same volume: 98mm across the foot. They both have the same liner (which has been improved with 18mm of EVA versus 14mm last year for anyone who felt they packed out too much, which they did).
They could be identical with the exception of color, knowing Salomon. Last year their Xwave 10 and their Crossmax 10 were indentical with the exception of color.

I really don't get the hexagonal cutout thing.

My older puke-green pro models aren't that warm to begin with, wouldn't those cutouts make the boots even colder?

no the reason sally boots are not very warm is because the seal at the overlap down by your toes sucks. this is why you see alot of folks putting duct tape over their toes. try form-a-gasket there, and you are money.

the cutouts are to make the boot flex to the outside slightly so you can weight 50/50 and drive the uphill edge more

I don't know about this years pro models, but I have last years pro models with the carbon link and the flex rating is 95. I haven't noticed them being any colder than any other pair of boots I've ever owned.
