Anyone ever go to one of the REI intro to avy talks? was thinking of heading over tonight after work to get a little more edumacated. i know it's no substitute for a level 1 class (to be taken soon) but figured any knowledge i can gain will help (and it's free). or will i just be waisting and hour and a half?

i like them for quick refreshers and a chance to pick the brains of our forecasters. i go several times a season and never consider it a waste of time.
btw, it's at the sandy rei, not the slc, for anyone interested

There's also one going tonight (12.1.05) at the Reno REI. Mrs. C. is going to that one... I'm stuck in Las Vegas today and tomorrow.
