I honestly don't know if I can make it out Saturday. I may send out my envoy, Ms Highmen for vicarious pleasure while I construct fireplug management for the weekend.

It's a Southern Storm track...Baker forecasted for 1'-2' by Saturday.
    Central Cascades ---> 2'-3'

Either way- plenty of snow gets me all jittery right now! can't type or focus!

    updated info for Snoqualmie Pass:
...HEAVY SNOW WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 6 AM FRIDAY TO 6 AM
    PST SATURDAY..

A STORM SYSTEM WILL SPREAD SNOW OVER THE CENTRAL CASCADES TODAY
WITH UP TO 2 INCHES EXPECTED BY THIS EVENING. AN ADDITIONAL 2 TO
    4 INCHES IS EXPECTED OVERNIGHT.

THE SNOWFALL WILL INCREASE IN INTENSITY FRIDAY AND REMAIN
MODERATE TO OCCASIONALLY HEAVY INTO SATURDAY MORNING BEFORE
BEGINNING TO TAPER OFF. AN ADDITIONAL 8 TO 14 INCHES OF SNOW IS
EXPECTED FRIDAY WITH ADDITIONAL SIGNIFICANT ACCUMULATIONS
EXPECTED FRIDAY NIGHT. TOTAL STORM ACCUMULATIONS OF 2 TO 3 FEET
    ARE EXPECTED BY SATURDAY MORNING.

A HEAVY SNOW WARNING MEANS SIGNIFICANT SNOWFALL IS OCCURRING OR
IMMINENT. SIGNIFICANT AMOUNTS OF SNOW WILL MAKE TRAVEL DANGEROUS.

No, much shorter. I can get to Whistler from Seattle in 4 hours with favorable (or favourable) traffic and no wait at the border.

I just drove from Woodinville to Seattle encountering snow flurries through Kirkland. Warmer with wind and rain across Lake Washington and into Seattle.

I drove down there a couple of weeks ago. I live in Langley so 15 mins for me to the border. But after crossing at 5:05 I was pulling into Xtal parking at 8:45. So almost 4 hours from the border for a fairly quick driver. Be at the border just before 5 and you're good to get there at a decent time. This only applies on weekends when the freeways are dead.

Good luck to ya, I'd think of joining you but my parents are in town this weekend. Also remember the power of the snow making factory they call Mt Baker. It tends to suck the max out of any system that comes along so I expect it will be great this weekend too but Buster's pics sure are pretty. Good luck

Is this your WRX? Was it recovered? I'm sure you posted about this, but I must have missed it. The last I heard you were looking for a new rig.

Yep, the plan has been Baker for the last week or so, but Buster's pics plus Squirrel's forecast info have really made me think seriously about the Xtal option. Plus I've never skied there and all the TR's from there make it sound and look pretty damn nice.

My buddy's got a possible place to crash in the Bellingham area so there's always the option of doing the trip in 2 stages... we'll see I guess. At this point it's looking like Baker, but who knows.
