    Biggest Loser

People taking the high dudgeon to their fat rolls.

Some guy just weighed in and posted a loss of 46% of his body weight.
Charlie, here comes the deuce. And when you speak of me, speak well.

I saw that shit last night. Un-freaking-believable!!!! It would be pretty cool if they could appeal or help more people. This douchebag I work with asked me if I thought it was healthy that they last all that weight in such a short time? I just told him, you're the experert, it is way more healthy to weight over 300lbs. Dumbass.

The funniest part was the chick that only lost 16 lbs! Other people are losing 100, 150 lbs and she drops 16!

Pretty cool show really. It should show many obese people that it is possible to get down to a healthy weight purely by exercise and diet.

Anyone see the finale tonight? I haven't watched the show at all this season, but wow! The guy who won was absolutely amazing. Went from over 400 lbs down to about 195. The original 50 (one from each state) lost over 4,000 lbs total.

Not in any way arguing against this notion, and I'm a fan of the show at that. But keep in mind- these folks are living in total isolation with a trainer and no job as well as prepared, healthy meals for a while.

OK, my inner-cynic has been muzzled and I'll conede that this show really can't but help the obese folks out there. Now I gotta go lose 10 pounds.

Absolutely true, but at least it should show people that, yes, it is possible to lose weight. Some of the results on the show are amazing. I mean, we're talking people who started out morbidly obese ending up like well-conditioned athletes.

I think most people know it's possible deep down, but within the restrictions of their current life, it's not a realistic possibility. With an unlimited budget and time you can do pretty much anything. Not many of us have that budget or time.

I do think this is true, and I wish NBC would take responsibility for better pointing this out. Still, as AD mentioned above, its hard not to be psyched on the changes the people in that show made. I missed last nights episode and when I checked the web page just now I had no idea who this Eric that won was, I simply didn't recognize him as that previously 400lb dude. wow.

    I mean VVVVVVV!!!

Read: most people simply are not willing to change their life in ways that would entail losing weight.

BTW- the before/after pictures are.....AMAZING. holy shit.

Man, I lose ten pounds and I feel it. Everything works better; I can hike easier, bike easier, jump higher, etc. I can't imagine how losing 200 would feel.

I'm working right next to a young man who went through chemo for testicular cancer half of this year, and from what he says, still isn't out into the clear at the moment. Yet, he is about 50 pounds overweight (even after the chemo!), and is piling it on every night with massive quantites of crap food. I think he thinks fat is healthy.
