I am now the one asking for help in gimp central but not because I'm injured. I going to play the guilt trip card just a bit here. I have helped many many maggots via this forum and on maggot chat. If the advise that I have given you has ever been of help then I urge you to help me and the NATA in this cause. If you can't call I understand, but at least clcik the links below and send an email. It will help more than your think and it will only take about 5 minutes of your time.
Many Certified Athletic Trainers, just like me, are in danger or losing their jobs as a result of recent changes in some key legislation. The National Athletic Trainers' Association (NATA) estimates that more than 1,000 athletic training jobs have been lost since last July when the Federal District Court dismissed NATA’s lawsuit challenging the Center for Medicaid/Medicare Services (CMS) rule restricting who is qualified to deliver therapy services to patients. NATA has filed an appeal because we know athletic trainers are fully qualified to provide these services. Recent NATA negotiations with Congress and CMS have opened some opportunities for change.
Ok here's where you come in.
Call or email your Senators and Representatives today.
1. Ask for their help in reversing the “therapy-incident to rule” so that Medicare patients will have the access to the high-quality therapy care they need.
2. This issue affects patients needing physical medicine and rehabilitation services provided by athletic trainers, lymphedema therapists, low vision specialists, kinesiotherapists, balance medicine therapists and chiropractors.
3. This rule has caused more than 1,000 athletic trainers to lose their jobs, many of those serving high schools through outpatient therapy clinics.
To locate your Congressperson’s phone number and e-mail address, go to
NATA’s Legislative Action Center at http://capwiz.com/nata/home/ and use the talking points when you speak with your Congressperson’s health policy legislative aide. Or send the e-mail letter if you cannot call. The bill in question is the Therapy Incident to Billing
If you need more info before making a call or sending an email you can find it here http://www.nata.org/newsrelease/archives/000330.html
Thanks Maggots.
