    Auto Mechanic in Utah?

Alright here is the deal, I just got a new (used) subaru and on saturday someone hit my car as I was leaving the lot at alta. So I am looking for a good body repair shop in utah that works with subaru (the one shop that was suggested doesn't do subarus). I'd prefer it to be down in the valley, I've heard PC Collison Center is good, but rather not go up there to get it fixed. Not worried about prices since his insurance is paying the cost, just a good shop. Thanks for any beta.

I KNOW IT SAYS AUTO MECHANIC IN THE TITLE, BUT I AM LOOKING FOR A BODY REPAIR SHOP (sorry for the confusion)

Auto mechanics are different than auto body people.

A & C auto. Charlie does only Subaru's and Saab's. He knows his shit, is cheap, honest, and reliable. It's the only place I'll take a Subaru in SLC. The dealerships here are a joke.

PM Altagirl, she got her old Outback fixed up after being rear ended at a shop downtown (Maggot connection; can't remember who it was but it was someone's dad-in-law). They did a great job. I'll tell her to look on here as well later.

Another good word for Nate Wade. I have had nothing but great experiences there, time after time.

Nate Wade = morons. They have fuct 3 cars that I personally know of, add my old outback. They were all in for head gasket replacements, all of which blew through a set of heads cause they are morons. They are slow to do the work, and just plain suck.

If you are into having your car suck after you take it in to get it fixed, then Nate Wade Stupid-roo is the place to go.

I don't know anything about their body shop though.

Same deal at Larry H. Miller Subaru in Sandy. They managed to forget to tighten things back up when they changed my timing belt. Which lead to all sorts of problems. At least they towed it back to their shop and fixed it all for free, but what a pain in the ass. I bring it in for preventative maintenance and it freaking fell apart after I picked it up.

But the LHM Collision center there is fine.

Negatory on Nate Wade body shop

Don't have any advice on where to send you, but Nate Wade's body shop was a bad experience. After our Outback got rear-ended they did a poor job, not fixing a problem that we are still dealing with today.

Typical. Getting a ski rack in stock and installed on my Subie was such a giant clusterfuck at Larry H. Miller. I bought a ski rack along with my Subie when I bought the car. When I went back to the dealership to get the thing put on my car, they told me it wasn't in stock. No biggie, just order one, will ya? I get the call a week later that the rack is in stock and go into the parts dept. to pick it up. The rack they ordered is for an OUTBACK, not a Legacy, which means it won't fit my Legacy. Slightly pissed, I ask them to order the correct rack. I get a call a week later that it's in stock. Long story short, they ordered ANOTHER rack for the Outback. At this point I get pissed and the parts manager said he'd come by and personally install it once it came into stock. He didn't after two more weeks had gone by. Finally, one MONTH after I orginally requested the rack, I went in there. STILL WASN'T IN STOCK! They had two Outback racks (the wrong ones they had previously ordered for me) and no Legacy rack! Unbelievable! I made the parts manager find a Legacy rack from another dealer and had him install the damn thing himself. Such unbelievably bad service from those guys. Never again.

I've heard excellent things from my gearhead buddies about the hot rod body shop across from the A&C Auto shop I mentioned earlier. IE, great work at half the price of anyone else. Although I don't know the name yet, but I'll post it tomorrow when I drop by the shop.
