Looks like wet snow. Snow level is at 8000'. It's pouring like mad in South Lake, and it's not supposed to stop until tomorrow morning. If all goes well, this should give us a really good base.

According to NOAA snow levels are coming down below the lake tonight. In my experience that means motherfuckin blowaaaaaa at the wood and it'll be sitting on a foot or two of rock covering mank.

The Cohee-phone says Chair 6 won't open until the weekend...tomorrow will be 5 and 11.

On Friday I'll be in the value pass pickup line at Mt. Rose. Maybe I'll get to ski a little.

Where are you going?

I have a flight to catch so KW is out.
I think Heavenly will be best of all due to previous snowmaking and the current storm.

Rose does have the highest base elevation and will get the most out of the storm but Heavenly has a better head start.

The other resorts will have few lifts open and nothing amazing in my opinion.

What do you think for Friday?

Pouring going over Luther pass this morning at 9am. At the very top it was almost snow, but not quite, so i bet the 8000 foot snow level was dead on, that snow level is just what kirkwood needs to cover up some of those shark teeth, so that AKA, shoe and 666 have clean take offs for their opening weekend 40+ footers.

Just started POURING here in Folsom so looks like that precip that WSD said was in Half Moon Bay and that Creeker said was in Davis is getting closer....it is definitely warmer down here than it's been the past few days however.

I will be there first thing in the am for 9AM lift opening. It may suck? Magnum 6 may not open till later, might not open at all due to high wind? OR I might get first tracks down Northwest.
