sad morning here in tahoe . rain came in and washed away hopesof dawn patrol pow on the face. according to cohee, kwood got 1-2' w/ snowline around 8,000'. fuck me running.

Popped my head out the door last night around 10-11 and it was pouring rain. We all need to shut up and just let it happen. I have no idea what "it" is. Nope, none at all.

I say dont ever knock early season WET SHIT. I was more worried on Monday when it was snowing in Reno. Dry early season snow doesnt do much for base.

When I woke in Truckee to rain, I was hoping that snow level was only up to around 7. But, if my hopes are true, then that is perfect.

Give us 2-3 feet of wet muck, and they will be opening everything.

don't worry folks, snow levels rising as the warm air from the gulf comes in, and wet snow above 7000 feet or so today, rain below. we need these wet manky storms to build a base and coat the rocks. Thursday's system looks bigger, a lot of precip, higher snow levels, but it should add another 2+ feet above 7000 @ Alpine and Squaw, then cold front swoops in behind it Thur night and dusts the goop with a few inches of powder for Friday and Sat. (her Red Barron, can I get a job )

Frankly, I don't care if I have to put on rain gear on Fri/Sat, I am skiing damn it!

Personally, I really like the bar in the Cottonwood. Cool old lodge and always gets me stoked to be having a few cold ones and watch it snow out the windows. Plus, I know te bartenders there, and they usually give good deals if lots of drinks are flowing But I am game to go anywhere: Pastime, BoA, whatever.

Very true. I was thinking the same thing yesterday morning, the nice fluffy stuff at 6,000' isn't too good for snowpack. Plus, those early wet storms last year made for some sick skiing at the Wood. Super fun lines came into play because they had a layer of cement on them. But I'm being kinda selfish cause rain this low can kill the face of Heavenly...which can be awesome as ja has said.

Not that it matters that much, cause there isn't much fun stuff at the base of kirkwood, but it is raining at kirkwood right now at the base and snowing up top. worse things could happen. plus, this next storm will hopefully dump a good amount later in the week.
