I think we're missing the real point here, which is, how the hell did they spend 100,000 pounds(~$180k, if I have my exchange figures right), and end up with a car that still takes 7 seconds to go 0-60 and tops out at 135mph. Who would pay that much money for a Lada is the question that is begging to be asked. Although they do make decent entry level rally cars, just ask Andrew Comrie-Picard badass Canadian rally driver. Werent they made in russia, or some part of the former USSR?

I was talking with Comrie-Picard at the Maine Forest Rally last year and he was saying that they made great entry cars, because they were so slow you didnt have to worry about burning through tires quickly, and you didnt hit things very hard. In turn, they were very cheap.

Lada is the John Deere of russia. they also make semi-functioning tractors and tanks. I drove one for a while, but never without dark glasses and a baseball cap, just in case someone recognized me. at least I never worried about anyone stealing the thing.

I'd love to make my first attempt at that roundabout at night, in a rainstorm, with a good buzz, fast, in a right-hand drive Lada.
