Hey Mtnlion your not there (in Banff) anymore? You were my first thought.
These Bros don't have a boot center mark. I was hoping to find someone who has worked on them before.

You can base them on last years boot center (search for the thread here), or wait a bit for Splat and the gang to do on-snow testing to verify the new boot center.

They moved the waist back slightly from last year, FYI, so no one knows the best boot center right now.

    Kill all the telemarkers
But they’ll put us in jail if we kill all the telemarkers
    Telemarketers! Kill the telemarketers!
Oh we can do that. We don’t even need a reason

I got the super stiff 188.

When are you around? Maybe I'll drive up and see you.

Keep us updated on your thoughts on mounting point etc. I got this year's supers too but I won't have a chance to ride them until Feb so I'd love to hear your feedback. FWIW I'd personally wait until pmgear advises on a mount point, or if you can't wait I'd move back 2cm from last year's point. Ask splat etc - I'm sure they've got some thoughts.

OK, here's the scoop on mounting the BROs.

The geometry of the ski changed slightly this year, so we wanted to test them out before we committed to endorsing a particular mounting spot.

I just tested the BROs out today for the first time this season on packed, groomed, and icy runs. I mounted demo bindings on last year's boot center mounting mark. In my opinion, and the opinion of two other skiers who skied them today, this spot was perfect. (Those skiers - feel free to chime in if you like).

Boot center was 40 and 5/8" from the center of the tip. Keep the tape straight to measure--don't bend the tape to conform to the profile of the ski.

If you're at all worried about tip-dive, you may want to go back 1cm or so from that spot. Others have always preferred a bit farther back mounting. But IMHO, the skis feel perrrrrfect at 40 and 5/8".

If you can wait, and want to be particularly cautious, I encourage you to wait until after Splat gets them on snow and to give his opinion.

I can wait a week or 2. I have to find some binders first anyway.

I will definatley post my opinion once I start skiing them.

    I can't wait!

    Pray for snow!

BTW, although I am completely biased, the BROs are so much fun to ski, even in the current conditions. It's amazing that a fat ski can be so fun to rail on hardpack groomers. T

I think SkiingBear said it best "they're like Cadillacs".

I gots 500 emails to read. A shitload of snailmail behind that. And the first batch of Bros just arrived. I'll start dealing with orders and correspondence Monday. 4 hours sleep in two days, so I need to chill a 'lil.

Thanks to MD9 for the JetBlue tix. Got anymore, MD?
