Biggest vertical in Utah opens tomorrow...

With half of Utah's resorts open within the next 48 hours, as sorry as it sounds, Gadzoom will be the greatest amount of chairlift-served vertical available in the whole state. That one chair alone has more vertical feet than all of Brighton, even when Brighton is fully open from the top with GW.
So, while it may be disappointing that the bird has such a limited opening tomorrow, at least it's an improvement over what's been available. There is no real point to this post. I only mention this as today's free Topographical Service Announcement. I'm really getting really tired of short, flat runs.

The good news is it can only get better after this weekend.

I understand the Basin is supposed to open Needles tomorrow. Running that gondola will mean even more vertical (longer runs). Things are looking up.

Yup, that's right... needles gondola and middle bowl chair. It's all official and everything.

    Plus, it's only $35.

So I guess this should be an announcement about Snowbasin's opening, no?

Even though it is free (with my pass). I am not sure I can drag myself up to ski at the Bird. I just have images of a horrible death trying (and not succeeding) to avoid snowplowing Texans while heading down Big Emma with Patrollers chasing me for going more than 4 miles an hour

A human being should be able to change a diaper, plan an invasion, butcher a hog, conn a ship, design a building, write a sonnet, balance accounts, build a wall, set a bone, comfort the dying, take orders, give orders, cooperate, act alone, solve equations, analyze a new problem, pitch manure, program a computer, cook a tasty meal, fight efficiently, die gallantly. Specialization is for insects.

    Foggy….…dude,

There was ZERO elitism meant with my post. It was just a play on words and a weak attempt at humor. In fact I didn’t even really read Endless’s thread. I just saw the word “vertical” in the thread title and naturally thought of one of my favorite things in life…the vertical smile.

    peas man,
