    put the freerides on...?

i'm trading away my CMH's for some really big Stoklis.
i used to tour on the CMH's.
i have new gotamas, and some pistols.
my heart wants to mount the gotamas alpine and switch my pistols to touring.
but my brain says the gotama is a better touring ski than the pistol.
i really want to ski these new new shiny pretty gotamas a shit ton, and i'm easily skiing at squaw at least 85% of my days this season.

somebody tell my brain to shut up.

I'd mount the Gotamas alpine and the Pistols with Freerides. I've never skied Pistols and the decision is strictly based on that if I could, I would ski Gotamas as an everyday ski.

    BASOM BRAIN.....STFU.

When you are dropping KT your first morning after waiting 2 hours to get up, and you know 200 hungry skiers are right behind you.....you will want the biggest things you can get at your disposal (and if you were skiing the freerides and popped a ski on the first cliff of the morning....then you really hate yourself).

What are you doing with the CMHs?

Welcome to Tahoe btw....I know you are a friend of Kellies too.

    your brain is right.

big daddies/spats--inbounds good snow/donner trekker steeze
rbs (really big stocklis)--inbounds windchalk/going too fast
    pistols--inbounds dorking/slush/bumpy crap
    gots--touring

you should tour more, and that woudl solve the problem of wanting to use gots. if you take chairlifts you are lazy and don't really love skiing, hater.

totally doesn't matter. Either will be a fine touring ski and when it's gonna go off at squaw you'll be skiing the 201 roids (assuming that's what you're getting) anyway.

I would say that Pistols/201 roids is a better in-bounds quiver than gots/roids. gots are sweet touring skis if foggy's setup is any indicator. Pistols should have a slight edge on them for hardpackiin.

The real answer though is to put linkens on all three and just not worry about silly inbounds vs. OB bindings.

and ownership of BDs and spats totally seals the deal that the gots get the freerides.

cmh's are going to mildbill becasue he wants them and i want his 201 DP's for wind buff destruction of headwall.
i do also have some other big skis though, that i could use to race people to that line i want. bigdads and 105's and spats. so you know, its just that these are so new, and i am a whore for new skis. obviously.

and i think i saw you at the gym a week or so ago. i felt yelling out HUCKWHEAT! from the eliptical trainer would not have been good gym etiquette.

Shit man....you didnt give all relative details in first post. If the only question is Pistols or Gotamas for touring, I think you should go gotama.

Yeah, I am in the gym alot these days (was doing knee recoup, now am just chilling because of jaw recoup)....definately introduce next time. Are you really plugged in somewhere in Sierra Meadows? Drop on by....I am on my couch this week up Snowflower court.

damn now bills brain is haunting me.
those p18's would look hawt on the goats.

but but.. i love those 105's for chrage and ski fast. but then, now i will have the stoklis. fuck. too many skis is confusing. no one should do this to them selves. its a waste of time and money.

you will have more springtime hard snow performance from the 105s, but still have good float for self propelled chrage and ski fast.

tour on your most versatile ski.

IMO the gots will be more versatile at the BCs necessarily slower speeds than the 105s will.

    my .02

105's kick too much ass to put FR's on. so do 201 roids.

put the FR's on goats. plus that requires less drilling into skis, and switching etc...
    then you have:
    pistols for crappy snow days/jibbing
    goats for touring
    BD's for everday
    105's for hucking/charging
    roids for mach looney.
    spat for "those days"

    edit: forgot a few

Exactly, so put the freerides on the Pistols.

Basom, as a fellow Spatula and Gotama owner I have to say you should mount the Gotamas alpine. While I love the Spats dearly, I find that I ski my Gotamas a lot more. In fact they've pretty much become my everyday ski. Only during rock/early season and on the hardest of days do I break out the G4s. The Spats I save for some super deep days and for days when I know things are going to get all chopped up really fast. Also, unlike lph, I don't have 10 pairs. So I'm trying not to beat the absolute hell out of them. All said and done, I probably spend 70-80% of the time on my Gots.

But from what I hear, the Gotamas are a great touring ski...

But arty! He has BDs for an everyday fatty which is way better suited to inbounds charging than gots (note: BDs rule as touring skis also).

Put the FR's on the Gotamas because that's what I tour with and I'm the coolest fucking guy in the world and you want to be just like me.

Leave everything else the same. Stop fucking around. You have too much over-lap in your alpine quiver as it is.
