Yep you can see the trail make a hard right just past the tree. It's gnar. Just walking down that section is freaking tough...I've fallen a couple times just trying to walk down with bike.

BTW, if by some cruel joke this weather is still hanging on in a couple weeks, I will be heading down to Moab Dec 3-4.

IF we don't have snow, I might have to make the trip as well.

Yeah, I neglected to include the previous two pictures. It's actually a 3 shot sequence there. I just posted the end, which is a very hairball 90 degree turn off of rocks. Since that pic is taken from above (pretty much the only place you can take a pic) you loose some of the gnarliness of that line. Basically, you have to ride down the tunnel of doom which is steep as hell and make an almost 90 degree turn to the right. If you miss the turn, there's probably a 90% chance you're eatin' that tree or if you're lucky you'll just go for a nice tumble off the side and through the bushes. Hairball? Yes.

And Bag, CS and Dave ride it like it's the sidewalk in front of my house. Very cool.

Oh yeah, I'm thinking about turning my truck into a full on (yet street legal) desert racer. The way I see it, we can then shuttle places like Moab and Bountiful at full speed and get more riding in. Hopefully within the next year, you will see 12"+ of wheel travel, fiberglass body panels and a bit more power. Anyone want to run the Baja with us (you drive the truck / trailer, AG and I on moto's, we all eat fish taco's and drink Corona's at sunset)?

My friend is doing the 500 on a bike, I was going to help with pit stops or whatever. I probably could be pit crew for more than one person....you should post something closer to the date next year to see if it's still a go.

WOW! That is awesome. I wasn't actually thinking the race, just doing it on our own (but maybe someday). If you guys ever need help, we may be very interested. It would be a great way to learn the ropes so to speak and take part in such a cool event.

First of all...I'm with Particle, I hate you.

Secondly, I assume you've seen Dust to Glory? My new dream is to have a trophy truck. "3 feet of travel on each wheel, 800 hp, breathing apparatus..whats not to love?"

Thirdly, you guys should come and ski in Colorado..hahahahaha. Nora and I seem to have absconded with some snow from Utah...and we really don't even care..thats the funny part. I just want to ride bikes all winter. Talk about I-street jones though..holy shit...I'd give a nut for about 4 hours there right now.

Oh, whoops. I thought you meant the race. Either way I'll post something closer to the date. The more the merrier.

And flowtron, if you are talking about Nora R.P.J., I am gonna freak the fruck out.

I'll never forget an article I read in an off road mag about Baja trucks. One line in it said something to the effect of, "You know those 10-20 foot super steep inclines you crawl up and down in your Jeeps, well these Baja trucks just jump right off them at around 70 mph."

I'm having a hard time with the "R.P.J.", I think I have the R and P figured out, but yeah, probably. Nora from Bozeman.

I would be down for a Baja trip in the spring. It would be a long drive down to haul the XR400 but worth it for week of Baja exploration.

Side note whats Moab like in mid January? I never been there, could add it to my route west. I will have my mtb and xr400 with me on my drive out. Current plan is to drive to Denver and set the route from there to Vancouver based on weather.

Flow--have you found the DH trails in Breck yet? I'm sure they're probably too cold and snowy now, but if you guys haven't found them yet ask around at Polar Revolution @ Keystone or maybe some of the other Summit Cty shops. Basically they are above French Creek (the good ole trailer park behind the 7-11 on Hwy 9). Although they have been developing a ton since I've been there so they may have been destroyed by now...

I too am realizing what a jem I Street is...Fresno is supposed to be this BMX mecca at the very least and all it has is a couple tracks. The few DJ areas are just on vacant lots and those get bulldozed for new developments constantly. weak. And there is basically one DH trail that is essentially a glorified Bobsled...

Dude, you going to be in Fresno over Turkey day?

If you can swing it, I'm going down to SoCal for some riding at the old spots on Saturday. The area was totally burned out so the guys I ride with have been diggin a bunch a have built some pretty damn cool new variations.

Damn.... That chute thing looks like fun. I still can't get over how smooth the trails look out there. A bit different than the roots, rocks and mud out here.

    You never been to Moab?

Those pics of UPS/LPS do show some smooth shots, but the rest of the DH on Porcupine Rim is anything but smooth.

That chute is scary as fuck if you ask me. I have looked at it a couple times and I am pretty sure I can safely make it to the turn, but I don't think I have the skills to make that turn. In fact, I don't have the skills to walk down it without practically killing myself.

No, I haven't. I'd like to go sometime, but it's a bit of a drive from NY.
