    Full Face Helmets?

i searched, didnt find anything conclusive...

anyway, i think i need to get a full face this year....will be trying some bigger hucks, inverts, lincolns, ect...

and will be behind a sled alot this season too....

just not in the mood to destruct my face....

    what do you reccomend?

obviously the lighter the better with limited field of view obstruction...

    thanks

phish - get one for sure... you needed it man.

make sure it fits, and won't fog too bad because of a lack of ventilation near your mouth.

bring your goggs and hang out in the store with it on for 20 mins.

i really like my salomon FF lid... but who knows if it'd fit your lid...

The Flint SC chinguard will be good for one big hit and that's it, IMO. I have one and it looks to me as though when that plastic gets cold and takes a big impact it'll shatter and possibly impale your face.

You didn't find anything "conclusive"? You mean you missed that entire "What FF should Phishshow get?" thread?

    (1) Transsexual convicted prostitute Monica Renee Champion, 37, was finally picked up by police in Richmond, Va., in August; there had been arrest warrants for indecent exposure against her in the city's South Side as a male and in the city's North Side as a female. (2) Tyrone D. McMillian, 33, who was arrested after a high-speed chase through three New York towns in August, told the arresting officers: "I've been playing a lot of Grand Theft Auto and NASCAR on PlayStation. I thought I could get away." [Richmond Times-Dispatch, 8-27-05] [Times Union (Albany), 8-12-05]

If you have an oval shaped head (ie. a Giro 9 fits you well), then I can recommend the Bell Bellistic. Good construction, warm, and breathes well.

Getting the visor off seems to be a pain though. AKA (who has a flynt) claims that taking the visor off really helps to prevent fogging. I've had intermittent issues with fogging. I have a feeling it might have something to do with the age of the helmet and the amount of stank the pads have absorbed. I just got my second one and didn't have any fogging problems when I was in Lenas. We'll see as this season goes along.

pro-tec full face with silver visor
If possible, try the ProTec on, first.
I wanted a FF for DH Trikking... (http://www.3cv-sports.org./)...got a ProTec, and could push it off my head, even when it was done up enough to choke me
(It seems to have too much space at the back. Or it could be that lobotomy I had to get into Californicatia)
Returned it. (The event I wanted it for, SF Gravity Fest, got cancelled anyway )

It looks like bike and snow FF's are the same thing. Duntit ?

    im drunk. but....

I skied in a fullface for last year, wasn't worth the constant fogging. Returned my busted SC for a fuse...Fullface for certain times i guess, however my problem was knees-meet-chin syndrome and a regular fullface doesn't do anything for that....

Got any pics, Phish? Someone told me that Protec might used to have made a lid like the Rem-Line 117 I'm interested in. I couldn't find a review of it anywhere so I'd be interested if you've got the same thing.

That's completely retarded. Spats pulled the same kind of logic out of his ass in a similar thread. Nothing's going to "shatter and possibly implate your face."

Have you ever heard of this happening? No. Considering the number of Flint SC's floating around, you can bet you'd hear about any problems with them.

PS. All helmets are "good for one big hit and that's it." They are designed to deform and absorb the shock. Motorcycle helmets are the same way.

Steven S. Dallas, you should be ashamed of your self.

One of the helmets that has my attention is the new Giro Remedy. For skiing you would need a beany under it on cold days (it is a DH/BMX helmet), but I usually wear something under a helmet on those days anyway. But it looks like it may be a contender in the FF market. The reason I like it, is that the face guard (or whatever you call that part) looks a little smaller and less obtrusive than the face guard that came with the Giro Flint. (and "yes" I had one, but to me the face guard/bar felt cramped IMO). Just another option to look at....

anyone know of a FF that has on/off venting?
I have the flint SC, but looking for a solid chin guard, but in the canadian rockies skiing has a huge temp range.
I want a switch, not taking it off, removing plugs etc
